Need to no fireing order for 1998 BMW 316 i compact

I'd at least check it out - all the power for the locking is routed through the driver's door before distributing throughout the car. I'm not sure about BMW but my Audi uses a vacuum pump for the locks - for some reason, they decided to use an electrically-triggered pump to control the locks. If your BMW is the same, it could be a broken vacuum line, which can be a bear to trace down, or it could be that the pump itself has died (that happens to the Audis). If you have one nearby, stop at AutoZone or another auto parts store and take a look at the Haynes manual for your car (they have them on the shelves), and see if the car has a vacuum-operated system. Check your switch assembly out, maybe swap another one in if you know someone else who has a similar car (see if you can borrow theirs for a few minutes to try it out), or get one at a salvage yard for about $10, and if that doesn't do it, then I'd start to suspect a vacuum pump. You may also find information at www.bmwforums.com - it's an owner/enthusiast site that is free to join and has tremendous amounts of knowledge in its member base.

Your ABS systems use a combination of electronic and hydraulic systems to modulate the brakes individually to prevent them from locking up. Antilock systems consist of wheel speed sensors, a hydraulic control unit (HCU), and an electronic control unit (ECU). Because of how complex the system is your computer does a self-test. If the check is successful, the ANTILOCK and BRAKE lights will go out within a few seconds. If one or more of the component of the ABS system fails to pass one or both lights will remain lit, the system will shut down and set a code. The code itself does not tell exactly what component is defective - it only indicates where to look, or what parameter is out of normal range. You or a technician will have to perform further testing to pinpoint cause and the proper repair. Even if you reset the light, if the underlying problem is not addressed it will come back on.

Removing alternator drive belt, refer to Engine.
Release the belt pulley from the water pump.



Drain coolant.
Release water pump.



Insert two M6 screws in water-pump thread and press out water pump evenly from gear case.



Installation:
Replace sealing ring.

your going to have to clean it down good with some engine cleaner, then run engine, try to pin down leak. may have a bad oil preasure switch thats leaking, or oil filter, or a gasket; hope this helps good luck.
