Initial diagnostics showed misfiring. Replaced plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap and coil. Had to replace injector for cyllinder #8 which fixed the misfiring, but still running really rough. Mechanics are baffled!! Any ideas? Runs roughest between 1500 & 2000 RPMs.
Is this a 5.7? They are notorious for intake manifold gasket leaks. When mine did it, the diagnostics blamed it on an ignition misfire also! Replaced the gaskets and it runs smooth!

Does this vehicle have hydraulic tappets if it does ???then has it had regular oil changes if not and it has hydraulics tappets then they could be gummed up and the gaps on the valves are too tight causing the rough running.was this vehicle designed to run on unleaded petrol ??and if so has it got stelite coated valves and seats to run on unleaded fuel,Do a compression test and see if its within spec as this sounds like a valve problem to me.

i have replaced wires plugs roter cap injectors and still have the same problem seems to worst when cold have spent over 700 still no joy
the oil was replaced on a regular basis 145000 dont want to put much more into it
