I have an 03 tiburon and the only gauge that works is the rpm gauge. The mph gauge always reads 0. The temp gauge stays at almost hot even when first starting the car. And the fuel I always in the middle. The odometer does not add miles no matter how far you go????? Any ideas? I have checked every fuse in the car and they are all good.

SOURCE: engine running hot and air conditioning not working

Any time your car overheats, you need to shut it down ASAP or you can melt the aluminum parts of the engine or crack a head gasket, a repair which is the automotive equivalent of open heart surgery.
The AC cuts out to protect the engine from heating even more. But what you can do to bring down the engine temperature is to switch on the heater, but even this is only advisable for a couple miles or so until you get to a repair station. At this point, your check engine light should have been on. Any time that light is on and you don't know the reason, you need to call roadside assistance if you are not within 5 or 10 minutes of a safe place to pull over.
If the thermostat sticks in the closed position, it means that no matter how much coolant is in the reservoir it is not able to circulate freely through your engine. The thermostat can also get stuck in the open position, meaning the car won't warm up when you turn the crank (car runs too cold).
According to some car care guides, the thermostat should be replaced every two years. It is a VERY cheap part, but if it fails and you continue driving the car in an overheated state, you might be looking at a new car and/or a new engine. Running your car overheated is not much better than running your car with no oil in it. Those are two surefire ways to fry the engine.

SOURCE: 2000 Elantra Overheating

First when vehicle is cold like in the morning check and make sure that the vehicle has enough coolant/ antifreeze in radiator and reservoir. If coolant is need use a 50/50 mixture of water and antifreeze. You will need some time to do this let car run at idle until the temp guage is in the middle NOT+ normal operating temperature. At this point if the thermostat should be in the open position. Let vehicle run and check to make sure that radiator fan comes on. This should come on when guage is about midway/half way. If temperature rises above half going to h/hot and fan doesn't come on, you either have a BAD FAN BAD FAN SWITCH BAD FAN RELAY OR BLOWN FAN SWITCH FUSE. You will need to check all of the following I will help if its needed. If fan comes on and doesn't go off and vehicle continues to get hot even with fan running. Feel radiator hoses and see if the lower radiator hose is cool/cold. If it is you have thermostat that stuck closed. Replace thermostat and fix problem. If all the above is good and vehicle continues to over heat. THE BAD NEW IS THAT YOU MAY HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET /CRACKED HEAD /BROKEN WATER JACKET. Basically you will need a HEAD JOB at least a head gasket. ONe tell tail sign of this is oil looking like milkshake/chocolate milk-a creamish while residue in oil or antifreeze. SOURCE: Speedometer Gauge Slipping - Inaccurate Reading

I had a car that did this to me. It started happening last year so I took it in and they were baffled. Lesson learned never take a car to a big chain store for a difficult diagnosis. They just told me to let my car warm up for 5 minutes and it would be fine. If I let it warm up it was good. This winter it started doing it again but it would do it all the time even after I let it warm up. I never bothered bringing it in again because it was dieing. If you are truly concerned take it into a mechanic ( a good one) and have them diagnose it. Your spedometer cable could just be wearing out.

SOURCE: do you have to change the timing belt when changing water pump

Yes thats correct the if the water pump goes so goes the timing belt even if it looks good. The timing belt is only good for 50,000 miles if you have more this then you got your moneys worth.

SOURCE: Car stalled and won't start again

Sounds like it might be either the fuel filter or the fuel pump, cause if you ran the tank down, you probably had sludge in the bottom of the tank that you sucked into the engine, you can try using a fuel system cleaner, you may have sucked sludge into the injectors running it, Zmax sells a fuel system cleaner, or there is one called RUN RIGHT, I would try putting some of that in letting it sit a few min then after it sat a few to soak in and break down the sludge, then start the car up, kick your idle up to around 1500 RPM do not go higher then that cause you will damage the engine, try that and see if that works for you, if not then I is probably the fuel pump or filter.
hope this helps.

I replaced my water pump in my 1999 gmc yukon my check gauge light stayed on and temp gauge stayed over to hot side. can i reset it?

Not exactly.
The check gauge warning light is on because the temp gauge is reading hot.
Does the temp gauge read hot as soon as you turn the key switch on, or not until the engine as run for a few minutes ?
If it reads hot without the engine being started, there may be a short in the wiring or the sensor may have failed.

Temp gauge on 1994 mercedes c220 stopped working could it be fuse or what

Well, "Or What" would be the correct answer based on the choices given. Please read this article about fuses: Where's The Fuse?

You most likely have a problem with the Coolant Temperature Sensor. There are a couple of temp sensors. The one with the single green wire is the one for the gauge. If you disconnect the wire from the sensor, the gauge should read COLD. If you take a paper clip or small screwdriver and ground the green wire, the gauge should read HOT. If this works, then replace the sending unit. If the gauge stays COLD even when the wire is grounded, Then you need to check for an open circuit in the green wire between the sending unit (Sensor) and the insrument cluster. If the gauge reads HOT even with the sending unit unplugged, then check the green wire for a short to ground between the instrument cluster and the sending unit. If there is no problem with the wire - Not open or grounded, then the gauge itself is bad.

2006 chevy silverado 2500hd truck heats up to operating temp while in parking lot blower works well but truck will not blow any hot air until truck is driving at at least 15 to 20 mph. fuses good think...

If I understand you correctly, your temp gauge shows correct operating temperature, your blower fan blows air that you can feel with your hand from the right floor or dash outlet, but that air doesn't feel warm until you are moving?

If so, several possibilities come to mind. One is that your coolant level is low. Even though your temp gauge reads in the right range, the coolant level could be low enough that it doesn't reach the heater core until there is enough engine RPM to create more pressure from the water pump and force what coolant is there toward the heater core. Another possibility is that your heater controls are not able to do their job. A stuck flapper in the duct or a malfunction with the temperature control system could be causing the problem, and at 15-20 MPH there is enough air coming through the outside air vents to provide some heat.

I'd check the coolant level first, though. The other possibilities are more far-fetched.

No....the rpms differ from engine to engine and from manufacturer to manufacturer. RPM's are always higher at higher speeds.

It is probable that the cable for the speedometer is streached and your MPH reading is incorrect all or most of the time, get a friend to drive behind you at say 55 MPH so you will know the odometer reading ( may prevent speeding ticket )
All metal expands when heated and contracts as it cools. Your cable becomes slack when hot. Stay Safe!

1994 toyota paseo: overdrive problem

I would start with replacing your tranny fluid. black is no good. your tranny should hold about 7 qts of fluid. The tranny fluid runs through your radiator to help keep it cool. If your thermostat is stuck closed your eng coolant won't circulate and the coolant will get hotter inside your radiator. thus making your tranny fluid hotter and breaking it down. After time it will turn black from getting too hot. Let your car warm up to normal operating temperture then grab your upper radiator hose. It should be very warm. If not your thermostat is stuck closed.
