Sounds like a burnt out inlet valve allowing combustion back into the inlet manifold,need a better discription to be more accurate.

Found these on ebay-I hope this is what you are looking for. One says it's the 911, but I think when I checked its closer it was actually a 944, the other seemed to be the correct one. I hope so.
