What would cause my 05 6.0 power stroke to not start when cold?but after initial start in morning it starts fine all day long.

Glow plugs. Check the connection and activation of the glow plugs at morning startup. Once it's warmed, their not needed and it will start easily all day. 6.0s and 7.3s are known for this problem. I replaced many of them. You have to pull the valve covers to replace them, their underneath the valve covers. Just unscrew them from the head, screw and tighten the replacements, connect the wires and put the covers back on. With new gaskets of course.

Glow plug light blinks while driving . Glow plugs seem to work normal as well as everything else. This started after several fuses were pulled out and checked for condition and put back in.

bad fuse conection. pull them out put some dielectric grease and put back in. if the fuse comes out very easy twist the fuse prongs alittle so it fits tighter.

Glow plug maybe out on 2005 f350 king ranch

2 ways to check 1) have key out of ignition, remove glow plug power rail, get ohm meter on top of glow plug where rail bolts on & base of plug where you bolt it in. check all plugs & should be similar. 2) remove plugs & hook jumper leads to battry, connect - jump lead to base of plug where it screws into the block, touch tip of plug where power rail bolts on with the + jumper lead but do not touch the heating element of the plug extremely hot extremely quick. hold power on for 5 - 7 sec until glow bright red. repeat with all plugs (faulty ones will take longer to glow or not glow at all)

How do I replace the glow plugs?

  1. Remove the valve cover.
  2. Remove what's needed to gain access to the glow plugs.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the intake manifold glow plug from the cylinder head.
  4. Using a deep socket or combination wrench, remove the glow plug from the cylinder head.
  5. Screw the glow plug reamer into the glow plug opening all the way in then out.
  6. Install the new glow plug.
  7. Reconnect the connector to the glow plug terminal.
  8. Replace the valve cover with a new gasket (if required).
  9. Reinstall anything removed for glow plug access.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

88 f250 diesel ticks hard pumps smoke still starts good and no power loss, took vavle cover off and everything looks ok wat should i check next wat would i look for if i was to pull injectors

The problem is the glow plugs are bad or not coming on. Even though the "wait to start" light comes on, the glow plugs may not come on. I have found when this happens, the light comes on for only 1-2 seconds and goes off. With the engine cold, the light should stay on for about 5 to 7 seconds. The colder the engine, the longer the plugs should stay on. There is one glow plug for each cyl. The plugs are in the "V" of the engine and screwed into head. Only one wire goes to the glow plug and the wire runs from one plug to the next on each bank. You test them by removing them and grounding the body and putting 12v positive to the terminal. The tip should glow red hot like a cigarette lighter. There is a glow plug relay behind the air intake horn which also could be the problem and there is a engine temp sensor in the circuit also.

Glow plugs

to check the glow plugs you can use a scanner (snap-on) or you have to take the valve covers off, take a test light n hook it up to your positive post on battery, pull wire off glow plug, take test light to glow plug if it lights its good if it doesnt the plugs bad,as for the fuel leak it may be the lift pump in the valley or it can also be the vacum switch on the fuel filter housing

Vauxhall vivaro wont start cold

Sounds like a faulty cold start assistor. On top of the engine you will find an aluminium housing with four things that look like glow plugs screwed into it. These 'glow plugs' are only available complete with the housing fron Vauxhall. Approx £70 +
Airbag light is probably a fault with the seatbelt pretensioner.
Check the wiring under the seats for damage or perhaps the plugs have pulled apart.
