I have a 2000 Ford Crown Vic interceptor with 185,000 miles. The car only misfires when the temp is below 50 degrees it stumbles really badly. I have changed the temp sensor, plug boots for the individual coil packs, I have also replaced the PCV and the hose that runs from PCV to throttle body. Once the car warms up it smooths out and runs fine NO MISS once warmed up. The car is in top condition for the mileage other than the miss. Please any solutions would be appreciated.
Take a look at the EGR valve it could be either vacum controlled or electronic either way what seems to be the problem is that the valve is stuck in the open position until the engine warms up you can gently tap the egr valve with a small hammer or a screw driver and you can see that it runs smooth, now if the egr valve is vacum controlled replace the valve. if it is electronoc controlled replace the valve and the module for the egr valve.
My car got caught in a flooded why it was park. I let it sit for 48 hours then crank it. It started...i changed the oil and spark plugs and coils..but not coil pack...I flush transmission........now check engine lights on...p.code 300..I have a 1997 crown Victoria. Police interceptor...pls help..its puttin when in drive and reverse....it ideals good..but when i push the gas its putts..my gmail is [email protected]
Engine Misfire diagnosis can be complex and there are many reasons for misfires to occur. I suggest you read the article at this link that deals with engine misfires and the diagnosis of them and possible solutions to repair them.
