yes they will you just may need to use a wheel spacer

It may be that the rod from the lock tumbler to the latch may have come loose.

two things can cause this in this car, one is the starter has failed and the other the ignition switch is bad, this comes from many BMW forums with owner's that have had your exact same issue, changing the battery somehow triggers these parts to finally fail esp on high millage cars.
