You should check and make sure that you oil level is full. Or make sure that its not past time for an oil change bcause if its past or time the oil is all broken down and thin and the oil pump gage says theres no pressure

SOURCE: 2003 Jaguar S-Type, programming a key fob

If its a new key fob the only way you can program it is this the factory scan tool, u'll have to take it to a dealership for them to do this and they will charge you .5 hrs for labor.only x-types can be programmed without the jaguar software. Im guessing it will cost you between 40 and 50 bucks to have them program it.

SOURCE: Jaguar 2003 S Type Oil change. Where's the oil

you will need to remove the plastic undercarraige panel below the engine compartment to access filter & drain plug. I have the same model and change my oil about every 2k miles what I did to my first oil change was to cut access holes below the filter and drain plug to allow for fast/frequent oil changes. Not having to remove panel will save about 2 to 3 hours removing and reinstalling panel or will significantly save $ on oil changes jag dealer charges 100 a pop do it yourself for about 20$

Fault code P1647, wiring ECM

There are many places that Oil can come from.

Most common is the Valve Cover but you need to spray the engine down and then look very closely to find some of them... Oil Pressure Sending Units, Intake, Water Jackets, The list goes on and on.

Oil light stay on jaguar 2003 s type

That would indicate either a faulty oil pressure sensor or that the oil pressure is low. This would be caused by a faulty oil pump, partially blocked oil lines or lack of oil. Check and re-check oil levels whilst the vehicle is on a flat piece of road. Check you have the right oil dipstick for the car (it may have been replaced with a longer oil dipstick which would give you a false reading) or even that the engine may have been changed at some time! make sure you have used oil of the right viscosity (check the owners manual). If that doesn't fix it then give the engine a good flush out with flushing oil to clean out the oil feed system. refill with fresh oil. If that doesn't sort it, change the oil pressure sensor. (on the engine block). Get the engine diagnostics readout done to see if there are any error codes stored. If you still have problems then it may be the oil pump which will cost a lot of money to change!

Check engine light is on,display says restricted performance

Anything can cause the check engine light to go on from a loose gas cap, to a transmission issue. When the onboard computer detects an issue, it will restrict performance so as to not damage the engine any further. An Oil change won't affect this light. The only way to determine the cause of the light is to have the computer scanned with an OBD-II tool (Autozone does this for free) to determine the codes and cause for the light. You can also clear the light with the OBD-II tool, but if the problem is still there, the light will just come back on

Jaguar xj 2003 oil leak

hey stuart1945,

Their is now real common oil leaking problems on xj that i have seen over the years. I would said if i was forced to pick one, i would first check the valve cover gaskets. I think that would be the most likely. I know this isnt a x-type but they leak from the engine oil pan all the time, i would check there next.

Another thing i would suggest if you really dedicated to find this oil leak and your have a hard time finding it. Is get some oil dye, a black light and some glasses. You can get these at almost any part store, the oil dye will light up when you shine a black light on it. Hopefully this helps you good, good luck, let me know if you need more help

Jaguar x type brake lights stay on

the brake light switch has either moved out of the bracket just above the brake light pedal or the brake light switch itself is faulty.
look just above the brake pedal, there should be a switch on a bracket so that when you press the brake pedal the spring plunger piece of the switch moves out and the lights come on. make sure the plunger goes in when the brake pedal goes back to normal position.if the lights stay on when the plunger is pushed in the switch is faulty and needs changing, quite common. hope this helps
