The passenger side power window switch on my 1994 Olds 88 does not work. I can operate the window from the main drivers console but not the right door itself. This leads me to believe the trouble is not in the motor itself. If I had a wiring diagram or something I could check out the switch to verify if it is working but no such luck. I am reluctant to pay $55 for a new switch and find out that I have a broken wire somewhere instead. Is there any way to test this switch? There are 5 wires on the switch but I have no clue what the correct voltages or internal contacts look like. I assume at least one of the contacts should have 12VDC to ground on them.

This could be an issue with corrosion of the relay between the switch and the motor (little black box).
Sometimes the glue that holds the motor's "piston" to the window will stop working, and the "piston" will slip off the window, causing the window to stick in the down position as well. As long as your doors are apart, you might want to check that too.
For the windows to work, you may need to find a new relay, or possibly a new motor. They can burn out or have other problems in excessive heat/use/age. The GOOD news is that pretty much every salvage yard will have 4 or 5 1987-1991 Oldsmobiles sitting around, so you can steal the parts for next to nothing. Also, Buick LeSabres (also 1987-1991) are almost identical to the 88's, so you can use those for parts too!
Best of luck!

As you mentioned, the power window switch and motor is functioning as you depress the switch. So it can be short door module or loose wires causing the problem. If both checked out ok, then yes its BCM fault.--------
This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
