Where is the starter relay on a 97 plymouth grand voyager 3.8 liter

The starter on my wife's van would make other than normal starter noises. After a couple of months sometimes it would just make clicking sounds, but after several tries it would start. Now, the started won't engage, but it still clicks. I cleaned the battery posts and made sure I had a good connection. After removing the starter I took it to the local NAPA to use it as a core for another starter, but when they tested the starter , it worked. I was told that the starter and selenoid are good, and that it may be the starter relay. I can't find its location, even the guys at the shop couldn't tell. If I can find and replace the relay, could it still be that I have to replace the wire from the batterery to the starter. Also, is it possible that the starter is still bad and it was just a bit of luck that it worked at the parts store?

You have a shorted engine harness, this is not common but it does happen, heat and engine movement cause damage to the harness, this is most common on hi miler cars and vans, the only way to fix it is to start by looking anywhere the harness rubs, that is where the damage occurs.

SOURCE: I need to replace the heater core in a 94 Plymouth

Drain the Coolant system low enough that coolant don't drain from the hose when you loosen the hose clamps.Make sure the system is cold and no pressure on the system. Slowly remove the Rad cap.. You can go to the dealer and buy the factory hose or to a auto parts suppler and buy the right length and size usually 5/8 or 3/4 (Cheaper)

Sounds like either a fuel pump or throttle position sensor. Check the pressure at the port on the fuel rail. It should be at least 30 PSI while running. TPS is mounted right on the throttle body. Amazon sells them both.

When it doen'st start, you will need to check for spark, fuel. If it doesn't have one of these, you will need to start tapping the relay related to starter, and fuel pump. The best way to determine which ones they are is to get a manual, but another way is to place your hands on the relays that you think maybe related and have someone turn the key on. The correct relay will click. Now, you will need to see if the same relays are clicking during the no-start. If any of them fails to click, tap them with a screw driver. If it starts then, replace the relay. It maybe interfering with the radio since this is an electrical event.
