Check to see if the power steering pump is still turning. If you have a broken drive belt (serpentine belt or "fan" belt), and the pump doesn't turn, you have no power assist. If the pump is still turning, check the fluid level in the reservoir.

Have you checked the power steering belt and the fluid level in the power steering reservoir? The belt may be slipping or the hard turn may have caused a leak in one of the hoses that power the unit.
Turn car off - Remove power steering cap, and turn streering wheel hard right or left and fluid should pour out (cover surroundings with rags.) If so, check your power steering pump.
The tumblers in the ignition lock may be seized, try cleaning it out first with a small spray of WD40 and try the spare ignition keys. The keys it self may be too worn down for the tumblers in the lock and if you have lots of other keys on your key chains, this will promote the lock to wear out quicker. Good luck and hope this helps and try turning the steering where back and forth as you try to turn the ignition key.
These trucks have a lot of noises from the Intermediate Steering Shaft. It doesnt really hurt anything, its just annoying. I'm sure your dealer has 20 in stock.
Is your wheel turned in one direction all the way?
Can you not turn the key to the on position? If so try relieving the pressure off the steering column by applying pressure to the steering wheel in the opposite direction that the wheels are turned and try to turn the ignition on then.
Somtimes the pin on the steering column gets pressure applied to it when the wheel is turned in one direction fully.
Hope this helps
The steering wheel needs to pulled off, there is a short somewhere in there. Better have it done, cause if it isn't done right, the air bag can deploy.
Sounds like you may have a problem with the power steering pump. Notorious for these pumps shaft to break, causing "armstrong" power steering. As far as the 4wd low problem, ick.
