I build turbo 350 transmissions. Can you give me more info? Almost always you will have a reverse as long as you have 9 1/2 quarts of transmission fluid. Now if you do not have reverse or a drive and it is full you have one of two problems. A bad (blown convertor) or the pump gear is broke. The pump usually goes out over a coarse of a week until it can not build pressure. The Convertor is usually the stronger piece and makes a shotgun BANG when it goes out. I really need to know how it was acting a week or two before you just had NOTHING. Can I have the style Lock up / non lock up? The year model would help too.

my tranny will not go into gear either.the linkage moves fine inside and out.i pulled the pan hoping to find the inner linkage broke(nope).anyway fluid is perfect looking.it is in a circle track car,and was working fine and then 1 hr later, nothing.move shifter around and no load on motor anywhere.what do you think, thanks, jeff
Reverse BANG!!!... In my case (2 days ago) I had just shifted into reverse to back up a slight grade and BANG - it felt like I had run into a tree. I've been limping around with what appears to be 2 forward gears. It will shift but leaves out a gear between I think. Dang It... Just replaced the Engine this summer. 1999 Silverado Z71 4WD w/ Vortec. Can this tranny be replaced with something more reliable - I'm finding lots of horror stories on the different sites...
350 transmission from 1979 cutlass one week ago the transmission had trouble , slower than usual, getting out of first gear. Then on day driving fine and a stop light and no go. When put into reverse fine, found that atf is leaking from somewhere. i have no idea,???
