Engine lopes or shakes for about 6-8 seconds and clears out. The service engine light comes stays on. I have changed the plugs (58, 000 miles). The service light went out and stayed off for about 3000 miles but has come back on.Email is [email protected] or [email protected]

Hi there,
If your DTC code is correct, P0300 means: Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected.
As you have not indicated any codes from 301 - 306, then the computer has not been able to identify which cylinder misfired.
Therefore, you will need to begin checking for possibilities which could trigger the random (or multiple) misfire, which can be anything from:
- air leaks (this can disrupt readings on the engine's computer). Try spaying liquid around the inlet manifolds, check hoses etc for leaks.
- Bad coil (assuming engine has a coilpack)
- Bad or poor spark plugs
- Bad or poor condition HT leads (going to the spark plugs)
- Bad cylinder compression (compression test will confirm this)
- Leaking head gasket (this can also cause bad cylinder compression) - are you losing coolant from your cooling system?
These are just some possibilities...
Cheers,
Scott

It sounds as if the brake booster is leaking. When you press the brake pedal, vacuum is drawn from the engine supply, if the booster is leaking, it allows too much vacuum to leak, stalling motors & triggering sensors. There is a check valve located between the line that comes from the engine manifold over to the brake booster & that can also cause problems.
Plug that line & use your brakes, if it cures the problem, you've found your issue.
Other than that, if you have another vacuum leak, the use of the brakes could just make it so bad that it then triggers symptoms so you shold check your vacuum lines. Vacuum leaks can be identified by usiing a can of carb. cleaner with a nozzle, spraying a small amount in bursts near vacuum lines, connections, and plugged lines. If there is a leak, the engine will stall or slow when it draws in the carb cleaner and you should be able to identify where the leak is. Go slow, spray only a little at a time & allow it to dissipate as it is a flammable product.
good luck

yes. nissan is famous for injectors, check the wiring to injectors, you said you had compression spark and you tuned it, the next step would be injector.

Hi...I have actually have had the same problem with my car since June. It usually shakes a little harder if my air conditioner is set to "on". The engine light comes on and then eventually goes away, ironically when I happen to take it in to have it looked at. At that point the service center says that can't locate anything wrong with my car. Have you had any luck yet?
