When was last tune up? Plugs, wires, all fluids & filters especially fuel filter? I'd start there and run a good fuel system cleaner through it. Also avoid cheap fuel - lot of questionable fuel at cheap/cut rate stations.
Could be your fuel filter is clogged. If you run your gas tank low often then trash is getting into your fuel filter and that is why it is clogged. Try some fuel injector cleaner that may help.
there is a technical service bulletin to relocate the fuel pump on this vehicle when the transfer pump needs replaced. there is the possibility the transfer pump is going bad on the 2003 now...its not good to run them low or out of fuel
