92 sundance isnt "carbuerated", unless you had it carb'd. They have what is called throttle body injection. and your problem could be something as simple as just needing a tune up!

Check the automatic idle control valve on the engine. Sometimes all it needs is a good cleaning.

2000 dodge stratus 2.4l dohc stalls at stops starts up with very light touch of gas pedal may or may not stall again for a coule stops but will again rpms go from around 800 at idle to 500 then 200 th

If it's fuel-injected, you may need to have the injectors cleaned, and also, any air filters should be changed at the same time along with gas filter/s. If it's carbureted, the same as above, but have someone clean the carburetor completely. Make sure all air hoses are attached correctly, securely and NOT broken. If broken, replace them.

Can your car stall if there is a timing chain issue

The timing belt/chain could have jumped a 'tooth'.
Did this 'new' behavior start all-of-a-sudden, or did it slowly get worse??

Stalls in reverse

You might want to check for a busted fuel pressure regulator diaphragm. With the engine running, pull the vacuum line off the regulator. If gas comes out of the regulator, replace it. For the acceleration issue, check the signal on the map sensor. It should change drastically when you open the throttle.

Stalled twice, once in the end of June and then again at the end of August. Both times I had been idling for a few minutes at a stop light, car would not move when in drive, and I had to restart the car...

The powertrain is still under warranty. Call the nearest Hyundai Service Department & look into it. There's a good possibility you can get this problem diagnosed & repaired under warranty.

At operational temp car stalls while stopping. new iac new plugs.

If it's an automatic, it could be the torque converter solenoid. Symptoms are stalling when coming to a stop after reaching speeds of 40mph and above. If it restarts immediately then stalls after putting in gear, that's what it is.

1987 chevy spectrum just got it for son. sat for a year (w/fuel in it). cleaned carb, added treatment, changed fuel filter, plugs. runs good accept when you are at a stand still (stop light, sign, etc.)...

If it's a carbureted system, maybe the idle speed can be adjusted with a screw. Not sure on the Chevy Spectrum.

Is this Chevy Spectrum the carbureted model or the Fuel Injected model?

If carbureted maybe the idle stop solenoid is bad.
This will be located near or on the carburetor throttle cable pulley.
