Where is the fuel pressure regulator located? How can I change it step by step? I was told it is located on my fuel bar but it is not there- is it in the fuel pump or could it have been bypassed?
If you want to replace the fuel pump regulator you are better off getting the whole fuel pump module I know its expensive. The problem is you went on line and there is a bunch of chatter about the fuel pump causing delayed starts. They are right. There is a TSB Nissan put out this includes the fuel pump and there is no mention of the regulator that I know of.

THE PRESSURE REGULATOR GOES ON THE FUEL RAIL WHERE YOUR INJECTORS ARE LOCATED. THE PURPOSE IS TO REGULATE FUEL AT THE PROPER PRESSURE AND ALSO WORKS AS A CHECK VALVE TO HOLD FUEL PRESSURE IN THE LINE. IF THIS IS EVEN THE PROBLEM!

Find the big hose that comes out of the top of the radiator and follow
it to the engine and that is where the thermostat is located. My
advice is to be sure to get a factory thermostat and rubber gasket as
it makes installation much easier. I have done it both ways and the
factory one is easier to install.

it should be underneath your car in between the firewall and the engine. Now you don't want to supply direct power to your starter because you'll end up frying it. However to just start the car once you've located the starter, get a long screwdriver with a plastic handle and connect the two wires with the screwdriver.
As for a long term fix, without investing the money to replace the necessary parts. You will need to attach a wire that can handle 12v to both wires on your starter separately. Then connect the other ends of both wires to a switch that can handle 12v, and mount that in your car somewhere. Then whenever you need to start your car just flip the switch on until the car starts then once it is started flip it back off.
I know this sounds like a lot but it is very doable with about $5 and a little bit of time.

if its flex fuel it will not have one whats the prob
what does flex fuel mean?? the problem is that i have to try and start my car twice before it will finally turn over. also, when i am sitting idle, the lights will dim for a few seconds and then come back to the original brightness. i was told this was the fuel pressure regulator, could it be something else?
i tried to look online and i dont see where the nissan sentra was a flex fuel vehicle so i dont think mine is.
im sorry there is no flex fuel that year the reg is on top of the fuel pump unit did some checking and is a common prob/you can get to it without going under the car pull out the bottom of the rear seat you will see a cover with 4 screws remove cover and you will see reg there will be wires running through this cover when you lift it up just unplug the fuel pump and set aside
do you know how to disassemble the fuel pump?
