Dashboard instrument panel does not work, no gauges work. Check Engine Light and ABS light come on and stay on when car is on. In the beginning, this problem happened sporadically and sometimes I could hit the dashboard 'just right' and instrument panel gauges would all come back on. I'm thinking there's a loose electrical connection somewhere....but not sure if thats the case, how to take the dashboard apart to look at connections, etc

There has been issues with the solder joints on the PIN connection to the gauge cluster. The issue being that over time thru vibration and such one of these solder joints will fail (happened on or 1999) you can repair this though. You will have to remove all of the trim from around the driver's side dash board, this will include the trim towards the center of the dash. Once these pieces are remove you'll need to remove the gauge panel (I believe (4) allen head screws) carefully bring the panel and release the wire clip from it. Looking at the back of the panel, where the plug was, carefully with plenty of light look for one of the pins to have a failed solder joint. It will be very faint however the failed joint will be a fine dark line around the pin. To correct use a small soldering iron and reheat this solder until it wants to flow, let it cool and reassemble.
As I fore mentioned I had the exact same issue as you are describing, our is a 99. The most tricky part is the dash, take your time with it.
I hope this may have assited you,
Tom

These vans have had issues with the PIN connections to the instrument clusters. With time the solder on the main PIN connection will begin to fail. The good news this may be repaired at home. First you'll need to remove the instruments. To do so remove the dash components from around the instruments then the (4) screws) that hold the instruments in place. Carefully detach the wire connection from the back of it; take to a well lit area. Look for a PIN with a failed solder joint (this will appear as a slight black or grey circle. If found apply heat and let solder begin to flow; the allow to cool and reassemble. If you look at my history you'll see I've helped others with this issue. As for the transmission I expect this a seperate issue, possibly the BCM but I'd like to review further.
Please let me know if this assisted you,
Tom

Replaced once before and still periodically happens. Disconnect battery and reconnect and it starts working on our voyager.
SOURCE: ,have 1997 plymouth grand voyager,
Sounds
like you may have the dash cluster solder problem. Here's a link to
some pictures of what needs to be done, but if you google Caravan dash
soldering, or similar, there is more details out there.

You have some wiring problems shorting out that is coming from the dash board so if you or anyone you know how to use a multimeter to check the wireing harnesses plus check any connectors that might be just very touching the connector of dashboard which means a bad connection to dashboard.
