The usual problem with this is the ignition switch. This controls the power to all the gauges and the radio. You need to replace the ignition switch. Not the cylinder but the switch.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Cadillac dash light flashing.

Under the carpet, near the gas pedal, there is a ground wire screwed in, and that connection is going to be corroded. Clean up the connection and be sure it is tight. I just went through this with my 97 Seville. Fixed every electrical problem I was having with lights flashing, gauges going crazy, etc...

Speedometer not functioning properly, diesel gauge and radio not functioning properly also.

Hello,

The gauge problems are pretty common on the 03-06 Silverados, it's caused by failing gauge motors inside the instrument cluster. Check this page for more on how to get it fixed - Silverado Instrument Cluster Repair

Thanks,

On my 1999 chevy silverado the only gauges that work are the oil pressure gauge and the temperature gauge. nothing else is working cot even the speedometer or the RPM gauge.

The stepping motors in the gauges go bad. Do a search on ebay for CHEVY SILVERADO INSTRUMENT CLUSTER for cheaper repair options, dealer costs $300.00

Dash, running lights, radio..on and off

Something similar happened to my 2005. the gauges went crazy! stopped half way or dropped completely down. Like the fuel indicator, speedometer, tach. While I never lost the radio or headlights, I did lose my dashboard lights--pretty creepy at night. My husband did some online digging and found the problem. In the dashboard gauge set-up there is a poor solder on one of the electronic components. He took the gauge center off, popped it open, found the crappy solder, fixed it, put it back in and it has worked fine ever since!!!

the ****--Ford knows about this faulty soldering and since it doesn\'t happen to ALL of the cars--just a select few(even more models we found out later)--they won\'t do a recall. Even if you take it to a dealership for them to fix, odds are they could replace it with an entire unit with the same problem. Your best bet is to fix the bad solder yourself or find someone who can.
