Center High Level Stop Light

I have a warning ticket from the police. My 3rd brake light (Center High Level Stop Light) is out. I think it's just a bulb. The fuse is A-OK.

It has a separate square deck where the light housing goes on top of the rear seat shelf. Does that just pry off? Then do I push down the light from the top to get the clips free that I can see in the top of the trunk lid? It won't free up from the trunk.

Nothing in the manual and I couldn't find much in Chilton's.

Anyone change a bulb in the 3rd high level center stoplight on a 1994 Cutlass Cierra 4 door?

    I had the same problem, I believe what your saying is that your 3rd brake light is out. Now, when my went out my service ABS light also came on. Did this happen to you?
    To fix the problem all you have to do is pop off the cover that is wrapped in carpet, the cover is essentially Velcro'd on. A few tugs should do it. Then your going to need a socket wrench to remove the two bolts, after this your third brake light housing will be undone and you can now change out the bulb.

1995 GMC Sierra 1500 3rd Brake Light Cargo Light
This is the only fuse that I can find that deals with the brake lights, but if that fuse had gone, you would have no throttle. My thought is a bad earth. More ideas here. It is a known issue.

My 94 Honda accord sedan stop light failure warning will not go out after bulb replacement of center high mount bulb.
Search web for "Brake Light Buld Failure Warning". This is a tiny circuit on the driver's side of the brake light unit. Remove the brake light unit from the rear. Get a replacement or do a bypass.

Does the brake switch also operate the high mount brake light
Hi,
Get the original bulb for that 3rd brake light from the dealer parts center.
Tell them( parts dealer center ) the model of your vehicle and they will provide necessary part.

My additional brake light is not working i have tested the brake unit and that works is there a seperate fuse for this or is it all on one fuse for all the brake lights
The third or High Mounted Brake Light runs straight off the brake light switch on the brake pedal arm. You say you tested the "brake unit"? I assume you mean the third brake light assembly, and if you get power there when someone steps on the brake pedal, then the bulbs are bad.

The power flow for the brake lights goes like this: Fuse ->Brake switch -> Turn signal switch -> Rear lights. The only difference is, if you have a 3rd brake light in your rear window, that gets its power directly from the brake switch. It does not go thru the signal switch first. So, if you are having a brake light problem, and your fuses are good, check the 3rd light in the rear window, if it lights up (assuming the bulbs are good, no one ever changes them), then the problem is most likely in the turn signal switch, hope this helps!

Check your fuses. There's a fuse box under the dash on the drivers side, possibly by the foot kick panel depending on the year and model.

hi from uk this fault most likely the bulb has blown in high level brake lamp /3rd lamp as you say as you mention this car is 08 reg check the warranty period as it may/should be dealers repair ?for no charge ps if you or other drivers have a habit of sitting in standing traffic with foot brake on instead of use of handbrake ? this is prime cause of brake light bulbs o/heating and blowing element in bulb due to the actual b/light element is high wattage so burns brighter observe how many cars have one or more b/lights not working as you drive ? also bear in mind this is an offence and m o t failure as these light are obligatory (must have working ) and you can face a penalty if stopped by police

High Level 3rd Center Stop Light
It is removed from inside the truck, that I know for sure, the exact method of retaining it I am not sure of.
