Well my 2005 dodge caravan has been running a lil bit rough here lately. So i have a 2part fuel system cleaning done on it at the local oil change garage. Well shortly after that My wife told me that it was skippin and missing really bad ( only sometimes) and then finally the van dies totally. I have it towed here to the house and with my friend who is a mechanic we change the fuel pump......And then it still will not start so I go ahead and change plug and plug wires.....still will not start so I discover that the timing belt was broke.....So we replace the timing belt. now after all is back togather it will crank and run great but when i come to a stop sign or go to take off or put in reverse it will somtimes stall out or just idle really really low two or three times then it will either cut off or just start back idling just fine. My van has 114600 miles on it so fuel pump needed to be replaced anyways but Now what is causing this thing to STALL out ?
Check the compression, all cylinders should be about 125 lbs, If some are off you may have bent some valves when the timing belt broke, the pistons
will hit the valves & bend them, If so, it is best to replace the head
I did this before no fun.
