Fuel Pump Relay 2002 Chevy Blazer

I was just reading a response you sent in July to a question about a fuel pump replacement on a 2002 Chevy Blazer and you sound like just the guy I need. My Blazer has been taking a while to start. It cranks, but it was taking five or six attempts before it would fire. This weekend it died completely and I had it towed to my mechanic. Long story short, changed the fuel filter, complete tune up. The car still wouldn't turn over unless starter fluid was sprayed into the carburetor. Then it would run OK, but then the check engine light came on and computer at Auto Zone said Mass Air Flow sensor. Replaced the MAF, and then the car ran perfect and started right up--without having to spray starter fluid into it. This morning it took forever to start again. Once it finally started, it ran perfectly. When I got to work, I turned it off and turned it back on again, but I have a feeling it won't start again today when I leave work. When the lid (?) is off the carburetor, it's almost like it's getting no fuel. Fuel pressure was perfect when it was tested, and the car doesn't bog or die at all, it runs perfectly once it starts. Could this just be the relay? I couldn't find the relay this weekend. Where is it located on my car? I found a bunch of relays under the hood and driver's side dash area, but nothing that was for fuel relay. Any Ideas??

I have the same exact problem with my 2002. Did anyone figure out what the problem was? Thanks for any help.

I have the same problem, plus sometimes it pops once just before starting.

Then it runs fine, usually starts right up when warm. Could this be ignition

related problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It should be in that fuse compartment or it could be in the fuse compartment inside the blazer

SOURCE: bogs down when pushing on gas?

unplugging MAF tells the pcm that the car has a problem some pcm,s will atomatically turn on fan, have you changed fuel filter or checked fuel pressure, the fan will only come on if temp reaches 104oc or air cond pressure gets to 250psi

1998 chevy blazer fuel pump wont shut off how do

I don't think you can on that vehicle-probably not a code, anyway. Check the fuel pump relay, it may be stuck on. Should be located in the power distribution box under hood. Pull it out-pump should stop-swap in a different relay to test. If pump still runs on with new relay, the wiring to the relay needs checked.

Where is the fuel pump relay located in a 1997 chevy blazer 4-dr.

In the glove box behind a plastic panel. There are 3 relays in there. The fuel pump is the one closest to the drivers side.

Where is my fuel pump relay on a 1996 chevy blazer? I changed out my fuel pump and the blazer still will not start

Its in the fuse panel under the hood the cover will tell you where it's located. You also may need to replace the crankshaft speed senser,if it's gone the relay won't work.If you listen and hear no fuel pump running when the key is first turn on then it may be a relay issue or the wireing to the fuel pump.

Under the hood , left upper fender wall . black square box with screw knob in center, ECM B fuse controls Fuel Pump, Fuel Sender, Fuel Gauge... Also you can get a repair manual from Autozone or Oreily's , Chilton has them they are very informative...

Remove the fuel pump relay and replace it with another relay from a nonessential slot (i.e. wiper relay). Just make sure they are the same first. This will determine if the relay is the issue.

I need fuse diagram for 2002 chevy blazer im trying to find fuse for fuel pump

Look in the fuse box under the hood. Find fuse "ECM B" which is on circuit 120 which excites the fuel pump relay. This is the fuse you want to inspect. The relay pin next to it is controlled by the PCM. The other 2 pins on the relay control the pump and the other the prime circuit.

2002 Chevy Blazer, car will crank but not start. Just changed the fuel filter and sprayed some starter fluid in the hose and the car started for a few seconds and then died again. Is there any way it could...

it could be a fuel pump they are quite common on the chevy trucks and SUV's. If it has a "Vortec" engine which it probably does, they run whats called a poppet nozzle fuel injecter that requires i think no less than abaout 53 psi of fuel pressure to run, you would have to put a fuel pressure guage on it to be sure and they are quite expensive

Turns over, doesn't fire. No gradual problem, just didn't start this morning. No fuel to fuel filter, wondered where the fuel pump relay is, is there a fuel pump fuse, and where is the ground wire f

Yes it has a fuel pump relay. It's located somewhere in your Main Fuse box.It can be found under the hood near the Fiewall or the front end of the vehicle.
