I have a 2001 mercury sable, my check engine light will come on and go off. I took it to Advance Auto Parts and the scanner read my obd and the codes read p1633 so what does that mean and how can i get it repaired?
Disconnect the battery for one hr.reconnect,if it still not ok,go to auto zone.they will tell you and give you printout of your problem.do not waste any more of your time.

ok Bank 1 is the rear bank and bank 2 is the front bank sensor 1 in each bank is the one closest to the manifold they have green connectors sensor 2 is the sensor after the cat converter and is a blue connector

My 2000 Sable starts blowing hot air about every 6 months. I mean like an oven. All I do is disconnect the battery negative terminal for about 5 minutes. After I re-connect the problem is solved. This solves many problems on this car, it just needs a re-boot. It must be powered by Microsoft (ha ha). Good luck. ps my auto headlamps never did work right either. Dave.
Barring any vacuum leaks, P0401 is indicative of a bad EGR valve. Hope this answers your question. Best of luck.

Part of the fuel pump assembly and a bit of a pain. You have to drop your gas tank.
