I pulled up at my daughters and when I got in the car to leave it wouldn't make a sound. We tried to jump the car it did nothing. I had a lock smith come and try to make a new key with a new chip but he said it did not work. but my battery was all the way dead when he tried. I went and had my battery charged to a full charge. But still no sound when I try to start it. So I guess I will try to go have the chip put on the new key he left me with the number of the chip I need since I had the battery charged up. In my owners manual it says that you don't have to do anything to set off the system. It shuts down the fire to the starter and the fuel system and you have to try another key. If that doesn't work then I will have to have a diagnostic put on it. but I can't afford a towing bill. Should I try a net key now? Or could it be one of the black things under the hood under the maxi-fuses. Or an ignition module? Please help! Thank You, Carol
You most likely need a starter
well i think ur on the right track i mena u seem to have alot of ideas on whats goin on..the black boxes under the hood are relays they usually never go bad but its possible i would find out if u have one for ignition or liek starter or something that u would need to start up the car and just replace it theres no real way to test them..i think it would be a good start..you dont want to go replacing the ignition when it could be something as small as that..whats the make model and year of the car? also the engine size? maybe its a common problem on them..get back to me i will do a search on it.

Could it be in the ignition switch? When the locksmith came out to make me a new computer chip key and tried the new key it wouldn't make any sound either but my battery was dead. Would that have made a difference? I cant afford to have a wrecker come and tow my car to the shop. I don't know what to do. My son thinks it is in the electrical problem. They cross shorted the starter to see if it would start but it would not stay running. So the Pass KeyII shut down the power to the starter and the fuel system when it thinks someone is trying to steal the car. help!!!!
It is a 95 Buick LaSabre Limited 3800 Multi-port tuned . I went and had a new NAPS key made for it. I had it towed to my garage. I sure do hope it is the key.
i have the same symtoms as they do but the security lite flashes when u put the key in the switch..
