I have a 97 chevy silverado with a 5.7 in it. I kept getting a p0300 code until the other day the truck completely stopped. I see that its not geting any spark. I changed the spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, ignition module, vcm and still no luck. Please help

SOURCE: distributor cap and rotor location on chevy silverado

Most chevy 5.3 do not use a cap and rotor. Most have single coil per spark plug and wire. Trace spark plug wires to coil usually above the valve cover.

they only cleaned the fuel injectors? did they take them out and inspect and TEST them?
on the other hand, it may just be a faulty reading. Take off the negative terminal on the battery and leave it for 10 mins to reset ECU. Then check if the problem comes back.

fairly new won't quite do it. HEI ignition? They have a very hot spark and that hot spark burnsthe rotor in its center under the tang through to groung,advance weights. Change rotor and place some silicone on center of cap and the underside center. - Good luck. -Ned
Note, HEI ignition, coil is on top of distributor under a plastic cap.

sounds like you have the plug wires on the cap mixed up. reccomend recheck the order and make sure they are in the right order

Will it physically fit? yes. Will it be a direct replacement any everything hook right up and plug right in? If we are talking about an automatic then no. 1994's wiring was completely different than the 1997. Can it be made to work? possible, but I believe it would be more trouble trying to make it work than if the correct transmission were located and installed. If it is a cost issue where he has a good trans out of a 1994 he might see if a salvage yard will do some partial trading for the correct trans.

Chevy malibu 2001 code po300

P0300 is multiple cylinder misfire, meaning a engine miss is detected on more then 1 cylinder, I would have the codes scanned at auto part store to know for sure which cylinders are actually missing, if there are 2 cylinders that are missing and they are side by side, such as cyl. 1,3. Or 3,5. If so its possible u have a blown head gasket blowing in between the 2 cylinders.. 1st double check that your wires are installed correctly, the coil packs have numbers on them to assure proper location.. Note the rear head has cylinder 1 3 and 5. Some people get that confused.. Providing you have a 3.3, 3.8 or 3.1 liter engine.

Code o300 checked about everything you can possiblly do and lite still comes on, any idea's 1999 chevy silverado four wheel drive, 5.3 motor auto trans.

Code p0300 is for mutiple missfires. Have you checked fuel pressure, fuel pressure regulator, plugs, wires, fuel filter... Those would be the main cause of Mutiple missfires.

2002 chevy duramax fuel gauge stopped working and makes vibrating noise sometimes around back fuel tank is this a simple fix and how thanks

Well I have a 2002. I have had this prob from the day I drove it home from the dealer. Evry time I'd put fule in the rear tank the guage stopped working. The transfer pump stopped working. It was back at chevy (3) times, and still no fix. They keep puting in new rear transfer pumps in it but that is not doing it.
It is an Electrical Problem, I keep geting rear transfer pump codes. So I was just unhooking the bat's but it's a pain.
So I just stopped puting fuel in the rear tank. And now if it stops working I just us the scanner to clear the codes and it will start to work... I am so done with this truck.
This truck also had ( whater pump, (2) Glow plugs, Injectors, fan cluch,) all go out in the first (5) years. GM, Is trash...

I have a 1997 Chevy Silverado. First gear doesnt work??

If trans fluid is full, it's shot. You could remove pan and check to see if filter is blocked but if fluid smells burned and there is a lot of debris in pan, don't bother with it...just get another one!
