1999 Chevy S-10 Blazer. All 4 windows were working fine, then they got real slow, and now they won't work at all. When they started getting slow it was like when a motor is going out. But they all 4 done this at the same time. The motors are not bad because a couple of times they started working again. One time they went down and right back up like nothing was wrong. Then the other time the front passenger door was open and they went down and up. Never heard of all 4 windows doing this at the same time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help.
Hey there Bubba,
Had the the same thing happen to me on that Blazer in my picture. All of them going at once is the key symptom here. What do all the windows have in common?
Check the the window functions from each door/window switch. Any difference in performance from the drivers controls?
The switch itself is usually the problem . Over time the contacts get scarred, worn and unable to transfer current. The drivers controls are used more often, as such are usually the first to develop symptoms.
I'd check out a local wrecking yard for an inexpensive replacement.
Let me know how it goes
Mike
They have a relay for the windows i would start there check with dealer for location or your parts store as they are located all different places

Thanks to both of you. I'll give both of them a shot.
Well no luck with the switches. I think I have a ground problem. I can open one door and nothing happens. If I open the drivers door and one other door everything works fine. Another problem when the doors are closed is the power mirrors don't work. Now I have a new problem to go along with the other two. The reverse lights stay on all the time now. This just started 10/02/08. Is there any grounding straps or wires that may be loose on the doors? Thanks for any help.
