C180 kompressor 2003 cd err

I have had this car now for 5 years and CD player has had it's moment here and there where it may melt a CD but play it none the less. Now i have to pray that the CD will play as recently CD ERR comes up every time I put a CD in there. I want to replace it. Which aftermarket head units will work? or Where can I find a replacement CD head unit for it?

For straight up replacments either ebay or a scrap dealer but most head units will fit unless its a double din unit you can get them fitted from new and fitting will cost around the 30 pound mark hopevthis gelps ivan

SOURCE: C180 Kompressor ejects all cds, reads CD err. What

most likely your c.d. player is defective. I would start by taking the cartridge out and making sure all the c.d.'s are installed correctly. next there is a reset button located near the electrical connector on the c.d. player. Remove the retaining screws from the bracket and pull c.d. player up and push in your reset button with a ball point pen and see if it starts to work. The message displayed in your head unit is just stating that there is a problem with the c.d. player- I'm assuming you have power to the player and it is attempting to work. After these steps if you get the player to respond clean with a disc cleaner to ensure proper reading in the future.

My radio/CD player constantly says "ERR" and CD's won't play anymore. It doesn't show the time or the radio station either, just "ERR". I can hear it, like it's trying...

HI lisasmith566 IT is not a fuse problem .
the problem is your the CD part of the radio
must likely the cd is stock or more likely the cd drive motor is defective .
FIRST try pushing eject on radio and see CD comes out if not you need a new radio .

good luck vote

Hi There we just bought a C200 Kompressor and it doesnt play CDs - it gives a CDS Error , can you advice ?

Hi, My guess is that you have the wrong type of CD. Try another CD.
Some CD players will not play MP3's or others like that.
Thats why you are getting error code.

Cd player comes up with err message

Oh, i had this problem several times... look, the best answer that i can give you is to buy a new one, there's sony's cd-players that are great, me and my father have. now, if you want to stay with this cd player just insert the cd several times until it will play. but again, you better buy a different one.
