What you need to do is get the code or codes. This is the best way to find out what is causing the light to come on.The ABS module is not usually the problem. The usual problem is the speed sensors in the front hubs.Which means you need to replace the hub assembly. They are not cheap. That`s why your better off getting the codes. This will tell you which wheel it is.The only problem I`ve seen with the ABS module is that they will keep running and kill the battery. If yours was doing this you would know because you will hear it running. It is just under the drivers seat on the inside of the frame under the vehicle.Hope this helps.Good luck.
SOURCE: the ABS anti lock warning light is on
Could be as simple as low fluid level in the master cylinder. Check that first and then if it is not low or filling it and making a few starts and stops does not kill the light then stop by your local parts store and they will read your codes for free and tell you what the problem is. Free is good, bad brakes is bad, but hopefully it is just the fluid level.
SOURCE: why do my anti lock breaks engage on my 1998 tahoe everytime?
either your antilock brake sensor is not working properly or your switch behind your foot brake is not working properly.
SOURCE: anti lock break light on how much is it generaly for front sensor
This could be caused by a fuse being blown or this could mean that your brakes need to be changed.

The anti lock brakes have nothing to do with the truck starting.I believe you have 2 different issues. What you need to do is see if your getting fuel pressure. If your getting fuel then you need to check and see if your getting spark at the spark plugs. As far as the ABS you need to get the codes to see what is causing the light to come on.The only way to clear the codes is with a scan tool. But it has to be repaired first or the light will come back on.The fluid being low will not make the ABS light come on,just the regular brake light.Once you get the codes just post back with the year and motor of your vehicle and I can help you out with your problems.Hope this helps.Good luck.
