1998 Dodge dakota 4 cyl. manual trans.

I had a problem before with my clutch(throwout bearings) and just replaced the clutch. The truck has been driving fine for 4 mos.. Now I have to fight the gear shifter to get it in gear....also in reverse it doesnt seem to want to engage and slips. Is this the clutch again?

You may want to try adjusting the clutch. I think Dodge have adjustment options. it seems that the throw out bearing is too close to the clutch and does not "throw out' as it should.

I need to replace the throwout bearing do i pull the hole ****** or go in form the rear of the ******.

Hello James,
I am puzzled as to why you would just want to change the throwout bearing and not the whole clutch assembly. It's the same amount of work.
The answer to your question would be ,you would have to remove the drive shaft, then the transmission, then the throwout bearing ,then the preasure plate and clutch. If you decide to go all the way, you should resurface your flywheel. This is an easier job with rear wheel vehicles then front wheel drive. Please let me know how you made out,GOOD LUCK.

The throwout bring will not ingage

check the fluid level on the firewall.
sounds like you need a new setup.
the little master cylinder and the fluid lines and the unit on the transmission are all one piece.
can get it at most auto parts stores.

wii involve pulling out trans.

I have a 1994 dodge dakota 4cyl 2wd and sometimes my gears wont go into first or reverse have to pump the clutch then goes in gear what could be wrong

it could be a couple of things. Your throw-out bearing, which does the actual shifting when you shift the gears. the other is the clutch is worn not allowing the throwout bearing to fully engage. When you replace one it is best to replace both because the transmission has to be removed to replace either.
check the fluid level in the transmission and check underneath for any leaks as well.

Wont start - appears to have no spark

Have you checked the "clutch safety switch"? It should be at the base of the clutch pedal, or mounted on the trans by the slave cyl. (If it's a hydraulic clutch)
