Intrepid Issues Just bought a newer intrepid off a chick who said everything has been tuned up, fluids and wires also... I thought I had a good deal on a car.. WRONG. When you drive the car, it drives good, until you have to come to a stop, then the car jerks..... and it's like it's stuck in a gear, so when you try to speed up again, it will not shift up nor down. Check engine light comes on... car dings. I have ran Diagnostic Machines on it, got codes P0841 P0700 P1776 I have replaced both Input & Output Speed Sensors on the transmission. They did not resolve the problem... Anyone have any idea???

P0700 is a code in the engine computer telling you that you have codes in the transmission computer. You need to have the transmission computer scanned.

I recommend changing your transmission fluid to see if that helps solve the issue....

Otherwise, you may have to change the solenoid pack as the screen filter in it will clog, and stick the solenoids.

P0700 code is a generic code for Transmission Control System Malfunction

P1776 code means your solenoid switch valve is stuck in low reverse. (DTC 47) A stuck solenoid switch valve is a common occurrence in the valve body of the Dodge 41te transmission.

The first step would be to check the wiring to the solenoid from the TCM, then maybe try a new solenoid pack if the wiring is determined to be fine.

1997 dodge intrepid is stuttering in reverse

That fluid and filter is due to be changed. The stuttering is evidence off low charge pump pressure at the reverse clutch pack . Filter service should be done every 80,000 miles.

Hi there. Make sure that the oil level is sufficient in the engine. A lot of newer vehicles now a days have sensors that monitor various fluid levels and if the fluids get too low the engine will not start.

19.8 pints according to my automotive data that I looked it up in.

I would just add fluid until it tops off on the dipstick, though.

2004 Intrepid - car sputters and clatters when trying to start it. Ususally takes a second crank to start it. Still runs for another 10 seconds after turning off the engine also. What could it be?

your timing is off. i would not drive that car. your running a risk of having alot of head issues. that will cost alot to fix.

Change plugs and wires, also check coil. Take a plug out, reattach to wire, and place threads of plug on block, or other ground, then have someone start it, and see if you get a good strong spark, if so, everythings ok, if not, replace plugs wires or coil

1996 dodge intrepid 3.3 transmission wont shiftout of first gear

two issues here. this may be a low fluid issue. i would check the level of the fluid first. the next issue could be a blown shift solenoid. these are located inside of the transmission pan.also, check the filter as well.(transmission filter could be clogged)
