SOURCE: Chevy Blazer won't start; fuel pump needs replacing

Before spending several hundres on a fuel pump, I recommend doing a fuel pressure test. You can get a test gauge pretty cheap at a parts store. If the pump is junk, you raise the truck, lower the fuel tank, unplug the electronics from the pump at the top of the tank, then with a hammer and flat head scrwedrive, gently tap the lock ring in a counter clockwise direction until it pops off. Pull the pump assembly out and install the new one. Reverse directions to install.

SOURCE: why wont my 99 chevy blazer temperature warm up?

You may have vapour lock in your heater lines. Start engine, put heat lever on high, disconnect one of the lines on your heater core, the one on the flow out side, & see if you have any air coming out. Once antifreese comes out stick line back on & retighten clamp. Make sure your cooling system is topped off. Also your water pump may not be functionihg to it's maximum. Take rad cap off cold & view flow rate. If inadequate you may have to replace the water pump. Good luck!

Check the magnets on the distributor. Mine did all these symptoms and turned out the magnets had depolarized. Replace them or at least check for magnetic pull. Wierd but true.

I need a cooling system diagram for 2001 Chevy blazer

Follow the top and bottom radiator hoses. Goes goes to the thermostat in a round about way which is right on the top of engine behind the EGR valve. Bottom hose goes right to the waterpump, easy access from underneath. The temperature sensor is located on drivers side mid engine. Look through drivers tire wheel well, you can see the sensor, brass fitting. A note, the top hose where it's attached to the thermostat is metal....tends to rust out, just get a new one and snake it back through there.

A diagram of the flushing of a radiator and block of a chevrolet blazer LS 2000

Theres no such thing as a diagram, here are the draining instructions, hope this helps...
  • 1-Place a large drain pan beneath the radiator drain plug. The drain plug is located on the passenger side at the very bottom of the radiator on the engine side.

  • 2-Make sure the engine is cool. Open the hood of the truck and remove the radiator cap.
  • 3-Loosen the drain plug. On the 2000 Blazer, the drain plug is a wing-nut type of plug. Twist it with your fingers until the coolant begins to drain.

  • *To flush the block, once you have drained the radiator, run the engine for a bit untill the temp gauge goes up to normal, then the coolant will have been evacuated from the block. DO NOT leave the engine on, once it reaches normal temp, (this will happen quick) turn off right away, otherwise you'll be forking out a few hundred $$$ to fix the worped heads.
4-Tighten the drain plug with your fingers once the coolant has drained fully from the radiator. Remove the drain pan and dispose of the used coolant properly.
Some service stations will take and recycle your used coolant.
    Hope this helps...

There is no special tool. The easiest and fastest way to drain the radiator is to take the lower radiator hose loose from the radiator. It will drain quickly. Hope this helps :)

    Were is thermosat

Within the large top radiator hose before it enters the engine. It has bolts holding the receiver to the hose. Drain the radiator when it is cold. There is a drain plug on one side of the bottom if it. Take off the hose. Remove the bolts and it inside. Install the same way you took it out. Clean the old gasket off and replace with a new one before putting it back together. Don't forget to fill the radiator with coolant before checking for leaks.

    1996 chevy blazer

The water pump is in front of the engine block. If you follow the serpentine belt to the pulley that connects to the radiator fan. That pulley also is the water pump pulley, and you should see a large radiator hose at the bottom, passenger side. There should be a smaller hose from the top. Hope this help, keep me posted. Be glad to help.

    Radiator flush

The drain plug should be located on the drivers side on bottom of radiator. Should be a flat tab that you can use to unscrew it. Or the faster/messier way of doing it, is to pull of lower radiator hose. Alot faster but alot harder to catch coolant to reuse.

Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. Right where the radiator hose clamps is the thermostat housing. Remove the 2 bolts that hold the housing on and the thermostat is inside.
