Gday ate, geoff here, well it would seem that the brake lights are trying to earth through the park light system as they are in the same socket in the rear, check the earths from the light pack at the rear, and the then go from there tracing the earth circut even to the point of cleaning rust, mould/moss from them, geoff.

Try this, Since you are applying the hand brake. Manually pull up on the emergency pedal and see if the light goes out. If this does work then you could have one of several problems. but, I am thinking that you might be able to adjust the brake tensioner if this car has one.

My 1994 Altima has a timing chain on it and these are supposed to last the life of the engine. I would say unless you can really hear the problem then to leave it alone.

it has one bolt. and yes go to the autoparts store with the o rng and they can match it up, the o rings are known for rotting and make it leak....
and yes the hose could possibly be loose.
SOURCE: no pedal after flushing and bleeding 2003 Altima brakes
Try this a few times.Have someone in the car with it running and you go back to the bleeders and open the furthest one away and have them mash the pedal to the floor,Tighten the screw back up before they let up.Do that to both rear and what ever else lines you have off.By doing this with it running and the bleeder screw open forces any air out of the abs if any. After doing this a few times you should be seeing air and the pedal should come up.Just remember, start car, open bleeder screw and have someone mash it to the floor and hold it,quickly tighten bleeder screw and repeat a few times to what ever lines or calipers you had off.Make sure you keep full of brake fluid. We all tend to forget the simplest stuff when things don't work out right.I hope this works for you and will be here again if you need some more help along with the rest of us.Have a great day and thank you for your time..

SOURCE: Fuel Pump
You might not have to change the pump at all. Get the fuel filter cleaned thoroughly, change it if required(its quite reasonably priced) and since this has MPFI (multi-point fuel injection) engine, either clean it by adding some nozzle clearing fluid or get the nozzles properly cleaned at a authorized service station, where they can connect it to a PC to check the status of the tiny holes of the injector nozzle.............................sodeep
