94 Jeep Wrangler Seat Belt Installation

I bought a 94 Jeep Wrangler that did not have a rear seat. I have since purchased a seat and seat belts. The directions with the seat belts were not very helpful. Does anyone have an illustration as to where everything will mount or better instructions?

Your jeep should have all the holes and thread nuts already installed. pull up the carpet and locate them. the two close to the center are for seat belts as are the two outside of them. the four holes that form a large square/rectangular area are for the seat. if your seat is fold and tumble type, holes on the left wheel well are for the locking mechanism. i just pulled mine out and filled the thread holes with new bolts to keep out the water and dirt. yours may have screws or plugs in them. this install is for factory type only. mike

2007 jeep grand cherokee rear seat in down position because the seat belt is locked and will not release. How do I fix this?

Hi,

if possible, you can squirt some oil in the seat belt clip before attempting to release the seat bet again. The oil should loosen the belt from the clip. Thank you.

Adding a third seat belt/2008 Wrangler

Issue is not voiding the warranty so much as the safety issues. If you have an accident, Jeep will disavow any liability for any injuries.

While I wish I could also put 3 in back seat of my Wrangler, with carseats for grandkids, no way to safely go 3 across. Strongest selling point for the 4-door model.

3rd seat belt in a jeep wrangler

Bolting it in a third row seat? that'd be fairly easy...just need something solid to anchor it to (like a thick piece of metal) on the underside to put the bolt through. do the same with seat [lap] belts and that should solve any law issues (actually some states i believe don't "require" rear seat passengers to be belted in, but I'd strongly suggest it for the kids safety!)...my big question is where are you finding enough room for a 3rd row seat? wranglers aren't exactly loaded on space...

as for torque...wrangler seats are fully removable (makes it easy to wash mud and stuff out) so as long as the bolts tighten down (air gun preferably, but you can arm twist em if need be) you'll be fine, just make sure everything is as secure/sturdy as the factory seats

Seat belt indicator

look under the drivers seat there is a plug that may be unplugged or broken this is what tells the light to stay on plug it in or try unplugging it and see what happens, on some of the 200 and up models the seat belt light may have some affect on airbags working properly, I have not found this to be the case on 97 model.
