The turn signal system operates on battery current received on a fused ignition switch output (run) circuit so that the
turn signals will only operate with the ignition switch in the On position. The hazard warning system operates on
non-switched battery current received on a fused B(+) circuit so that the hazard warning remains operational regardless
of the ignition switch position. When the turn signal system is activated, the circuitry of the left multi-function
switch and the FCM will cause the selected (right or left) turn signal indicator, front park/turn signal lamp, front side
marker lamp and rear tail/stop/turn signal lamp to flash on and off. When the hazard warning system is activated,
the circuitry of the hazard warning switch and the FCM will cause both the right side and the left side turn signal
indicators, front park/turn signal lamps, front side marker lamps and rear tail/stop/turn signal lamps to flash on and
off. The Front Control Module (FCM) can also activate the hazard warning system lamps.

PRE-DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTIONBefore diagnosing ABS/TCS, perform a comprehensive visual inspection of system as follows.Check ABS/TCS wiring harness connectors for looseness. Check harness routing; pay particular attention to wheel speed sensor wiring harness routing. Check fuses No. 1D, 5B and 6B in instrument panel fuse block. Check fuses No. 1 and 2 in underhood fuse block. Check brake fluid level in master cylinder reservoir. Check brake fluid level in Pressure Modulator Valve (PMV) assembly reservoir. Ensure parking brake is fully released. Ensure parking brake switch is functioning properly. Always perform ABS/TCS system functional check before using DIAGNOSTIC CODE CHARTSThe EBCM/EBTCM has self-diagnostic capability, which can detect system failures. Fault codes stored by EBCM/EBTCM can be displayed using Tech 1 scan tester. There are no provisions for flash code diagnostics.Begin ABS/TCS diagnosis with PRE-DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION procedure. If failures are found during pre-diagnostic inspection, perform necessary repairs, and proceed with ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK. See Fig. 5 .If no failures are found during pre-diagnostic inspection, go to ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK. See Fig. 5 . The ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK will either indicate ABS/TCS is functioning properly or direct technician to various diagnostic procedures such as diagnostic charts, symptom diagnosis or BRAKE warning light diagnosis.CHART D - TRACTION OFF WARNING LIGHT ON CONTINUOUSLY & NO DTC SET (BUICK WITH UH8 OR U2A INSTRUMENT CLUSTER)Circuit DescriptionWhen ignition switch is first turned to RUN position, EBTCM goes through a self-test, which lasts 2-4 seconds. During self-test, EBTCM commands TRACTION OFF indicator warning light on. Powertrain Control Module (PCM) can also command EBTCM to set a Code 75 which will illuminate TRACTION OFF indicator.Traction control switch is located either on instrument panel center trim plate or driver's front door trim panel. Switch allows driver to select traction control mode (on/off). When traction control system is turned off, TRACTION OFF warning light comes on.EBTCM monitors transaxle temperature through

Constantly on dash brake warning light 2000 chevy venture. the emergency brake warning light on my 2000 chevy venture is constantly on. the rear brakes aren't sticking and the switch seems simple how...

Please also note that the low fluid level sensor in your brake master cylinder will also make this light come on. If the brake fluid is low in the master cylinder, you need to find out WHY! There is either an hydraulic leak in the system or the disc brake pads are worn VERY thin. Then again, the low fluid level sensor could be faulty.

There is also a difference in brake systems available in your vehicle. If you do not have a fluid level switch in you master cylinder, there will be a pressure differential switch mounted between the fluid lines just below the antilock brake module. If this switch is causing the brake light to come on, it is usually because of a fluid leak somewhere in the system. If the hydraulic pressure on one dide of the switch or the other drops for some reason, it will cause the piston in the switch to shift to the side and turn the switch on. Again, you vehicle may be equipped with one or the other - you simply have to look.

To find out if it is the low fluid level switch, the pressure differential switch` or the parking brake switch, just unplug each of the switches to see if the light goes out.

If it actually is the parking brake switch, it is usually because the parking brake lever assembly is malfunctioning or you may have a stuck forward cable that is not allowing the pedal to return to the full UP position. Parking brake lever/pedal assembly failures are pretty common. I have changed quite a few of them.

Brake light stays on in dash 96 ford thunderbird

Hi, there are 3 things that can cause the light to stay on.
One is the parking brake switch, which may have shorted internally or to chassis ground. The switch is above the parking brake pedal. If the connector is still on the switch remove it. If the light goes out, replace the switch.

The second is the fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir. Check fluid level. If good, check the sensor by taking the cable off. If that puts the light out, replace the sensor.

The third is the pressure differential warning switch. The switch turns on when there is a brake failure. You would probably know if this happened. If not, check all wheels for brake fluid leaks. If you have a leak and need help with repair procedures, please get back to me. If you have completed repairs, please read the procedures below from autozone.com to reset the warning switch.

Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for using FixYa.

From autozone.com:
A pressure differential warning valve is incorporated in the hydraulic system. The signal from this valve consists of a warning light on the dashboard activated by a differential pressure switch located below the master cylinder. The signal indicates a hydraulic pressure differential between the front and rear brakes of 80-150 psi, and should warn the driver that a hydraulic failure has occurred.
After repairing and bleeding any part of the hydraulic system the warning light may remain on due to the pressure differential valve remaining in the off-center position. To centralize the valve a pressure difference must be created in the opposite branch of the hydraulic system that was repaired or bled last.
Front wheel balancing of cars equipped with disc brakes may also cause a pressure differential in the front branch of the system.

VALVE CENTERING PROCEDURE

  1. Turn the ignition to either the ACC or ON position.
  2. Check the fluid level in the master cylinder reservoirs. Fill to within 1 / 4 in. (6mm) of the top if necessary.
  3. Depress the brake pedal firmly. The valve will centralize itself causing the brake warning light to go out.
  4. Turn the ignition off.
  5. Prior to driving the vehicle, check the operation of the brakes and obtain a firm pedal.

My air bag light is flashing how to fix it?

first things first is you need to know what code(s) have set

The system readiness indicator light (AIR BAG warning light) is used in diagnosing malfunctions or faults in the air bag system. A fault code will be displayed when the ignition switch is in the RUN position and the diagnostic monitor detects a system fault. Certain faults may not be displayed until approximately 30 seconds after ignition switch has been turned to RUN position. This is the amount of time required for diagnostic monitor to test and verify all system faults.
AIR BAG warning light flashes a series of 2-digit fault codes. For example, a fault Code 32 will be displayed in the following manner: flash flash flash, one-second pause, flash flash, 3-second pause, then the cycle would repeat.

Once you have the code(s) post them here

I replaced the front pads on a VW JETTA 2.5 and the check pads light is on. How can I reset the check pads light?

As the brake pads wear, the brake pad wear sensor contained in the brake pad contacts the brake rotor. This causes the sensor to fail. When a pad wear sensor fails it opens the ground circuit of the pad wear warning light system causing the pad wear warning light to illuminate. Perform normal brake service to correct this condition and be sure to replace the brake pads with pads containing wear sensors. Once the brake pads and wear sensors are replaced, reset the brake pad warning system by turning the ignition switch to the "on" position. As long as continuity to ground exists through all the brake pad wear sensors the system should reset and the pad warning light in the dash will go out. If the pad warning light does not go out, a check of the pad warning circuit for an open circuit condition or poor ground must be performed.
