SOURCE: 94 buick roadmaster over heating changed waterpump

I feel there is a sort somewhere in the fan circuitry, check its fuse unit. Also ensure proper level of engine oil is present in the engine. Actually your car might be overheating because the respective fans are not powering on at the correct time, but you mentioned that these fans are in working condition so it has to on something in this circuit that is preventing completion of this circuit by their respective sensors which you have recently changed...............sodeep

SOURCE: 89 buick lesabre electric cooling fans

You are off to a good start by testing the fans. Get a repair manual from your nearest autoparts store. I find them invaluable. Most temperature sensors can be tested with an Ohm meter. Or short the two wires together to trigger fans. If it has only one wire then ground it to the frame/body (negative side of battery). If none of that works (with ignition on / car off) then relay is bad. Also turning on the A/C should make the fans come on. Car does not have to be running, key in on position. This would eliminate bad relays or not.

SOURCE: where is the coolant temp

Hi there,

you have two ECTs on this car on the right side of the block and other close to the water pump. I would suggest replacing both of them while you at it. Good luck

Sounds like the computer is not powering the fan relay when the engine reaches 220 degrees. You might want to jumper the temp sensor to see it it will trigger the relay. You may need a scanner to monitor the data signal from the temp sensor.
As for the brake warning light, it can be from low brake fluid or the parking brake not being released. Either sensor or switch could have failed.

Car won't start after starting it with coolant temp sensor disconnected

Try a boost first before taking things apart, sound like low voltage.
Now about the fans.Sometimes it's easier (if the fans will work with voltage applied) just to install a relay and fire it off the switched power wire at the A/C compressor.Use this relay supply to voltage to the fans when the compressor runs.Want fans when not using A/C?Run a "in rad hose" temp switch and run that wire to the same relay to run fans when temp rises.Think after market hot rod stuff and keep it easy and simple,

1994 Chevy Cavalier fan won't come on

Sounds like the sensor is not reading the coolant temp, or the computer is not accepting the data from the sensor.
Its possible you have air in the cooling system, or you have a problem with the computer.

Cooling fans on 94 buick lesabre are coming on at about 100 degrees engine temp when A/C is not running.

Yes, it could. But there might be another little module or device at play here, tricking the relay for the fan to come on (wrong temp). Certainly the ECT sensor, if you experience other driveability symptoms or issues especially in that time between the fans coming on and the engine reaching normal operating temperature.
Well, maybe this is a little help on your way to solve it. A wiring diagram of the circuit is another option besides the engine CTS.. Good luck.

Sometimes stalls or surges when hot, runs hot

Clean the temperature sensor wire connector.
Replace the temp sensor near the thermostat hosing.

Check the condition of the sensor wire cut(s) or short onto the engine block.

Monitor the fan operation with the hood open during warm up (0-15 minutes.) It should ran after the engine coolant temp get above 195F +.

Test fan relay.
