03 chevy impala ls starts and then dies immediately

My impala starts and then dies immediately maybe a second or two after starting. It doesn't matter if the engine is warm or cold but does it more when it is warm. It has even once backfired back through the intake and smoke rolled from out of the hood. Most of the time, the car will start with no problem second try.

    same problem here, going to change air pump for another problem, also going to do spark plugs too, wish me luck, I hope this may help this problem too! : )

    We went to start the car and we heard a pop and then it started smoking. The smoke seemed to come from around the alternator.

    When I went to start the car, there was a pop and then smoke from under the hood. Now it won't start at all.

    Fuseable link may have fried. It would need replaced. It is a wire with a fuse in it and it burns when ampreage is exceeded.

Check the fuel pressure regulator. Its next to the throttle boby and has a vacumm hose connected.

2003 Chevrolet Impala ls 3.8l. "Hello, I have an
P0171 and P0174 are lean codes. There is likely a large vacuum leak or the MAF is bad.

Try starting the car and wiggling the connector for the MAF sensor. Also try tapping the MAF sensor. If the idle changes or the car stalls replace the MAF sensor.

The second shop should recognize that these codes don't have anything to do with the ignition module.

03 Chevy Tahoe 5.3L vin "z". It started by randomly dieing. I checked the fuel pressure and it was low so I replaced the pump assembly. After it ran great for 2 or 3 days then it started dieing again....

Your car starts and dies due to the failing antitheft system. Your vehicle is not receiving the "fuel enable" signal that it needs to keep running. So the injectors get turned to off to prevent theft. You will need to diagnose which part of the antitheft system is failing. Or bypass the entire security system. the battery is probably dead, also if your car is in gear it will not start if its in gear if it is a automatic transmision

A little shot of quick start, or WD-40 in to the throttle body intake when it won't start, will at least let you know if lack of fuel or spark is your culprit. If it fires up for a second or so after a spray, then it's fuel delivery related. Helps mechanic narrow down area of trouble.

07 chevy impala wont start ain't the battery wont even start when being jump
starter pinion may be jammed hit on it with a block of wood when some else tries to start it...this will usually only work one time but it"ll prove that you have a bad starter solenoid. make sure also that you try nuetrla position when trying to start you might have a bad neutral saftey switch.
you can also make up a jumper with aligator clips and hook one end up to the pos battery and the other to the 12v position of the start will key is on this way if it starts then youll know that its a wiring issue maybe ignition switch.

on chevy malibu, turn key on engine off.let it stay on 10 to 15 minutes. then turn ignition off, take out key from ignition. after a minute start the car. this should work.

I have replaced the radiator in my 2003 Chevrolet Impala LS. The car started running hot and shut down. Took it to a radiator shop and found a crack in the radiator. I have replaced 2 thermostats in the car already. I noticed water running from under my car today and it seems it was coming back out of the overflow.
