All vehicles wiring is the same.

To do it right make sure you buy a wiring adapter so you don't have to cut your factory wiring plug off. Below is a wiring picture. Not all the wires in be required to hook up because some vehicles don't use them.

Blue/White (Remote Turn on): Used if sub woofer and amp system is being installed

Orange (illumination): Not every vehicle has this .. This is used to dim the radio when the head lights get turned on its own.

Blue (Power Antenna): Only used if you have one

Oh I forgot there might be extra wires on the deck for steering wheel or remote volume controls if the jeep has it

SOURCE: 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Malfunction light came on. What is the cause?

You can do one of three things.1. buy a scan tool 2. go to a dealer and pay to have the codes read and diagnosed 3. go to your local parts chain to have it read for free. (call first to verify). The code will tell you what system is malfunctioning and what the malfunction is. The parts store option is my choice, because you can also get the part to fix it if needed and you are not out the $ for diagnostics, nor did you need an appt to get it in.

SOURCE: I have a 1999 jeep grand Cherokee larado V6.

The P1391 code indicates that the crank or cam sensor(s) have sent an intermitant code to the ecm. The most common cause for this is loose wiring or debris on the contacts of one of the sensors.

SOURCE: what is the perform service light mean,on a jeep

On the jeep it is just an oil change reminder, you can go into the menu and reset the counter. If there was something wrong with the jeep the check engine light will come on.

i would think somewhere between 200k-300k miles before you have to do something like rings... but still, it really depends in how good care of the engine do you have.

Head lights and dashboard lights come on and off

This is usually a sign of the battery wires not connected completely or the ground has become frayed and needs to be replaced.

check for dirty / bent pins on connector. check wires at harness side of pins for any corrosion. Problem is likely not the computer, based upon what you've said.
