Faulty oil pressure sensor

My trooper 3.0L 2002 model has low rpm when i'm about to back or when i'm in almost 5-10 km/hr drive and causes my vehicle to stop. however, i can start it again but i have to make sure my battery indicator reaches 13 level & above and its rpm is almost .9 before i can make it moving forward. when i'm in high speed it works fine and at times, when i slow down & is on low rpm it doesn't stall me. it had stall me 3 times.

SOURCE: Oil pressure for 2001 isuzu trooper

I'd check to see what is in the crankcase currently; with modern multirange oils, that sounds high.
The typical operating range is from 30-60#; 10 seems low for an idle pressure but then idiot lights are supposed to trigger at ~ 4# pressure.
If it was mine, I would change oil and put a multirange type suitable for your area in it to see what influence it has. If you are in a temperate climate as I am, it might be time to change from summer to a winter range; 10W30 is good for us and 10W40 in summer (WV).

SOURCE: 98 Isuzu Trooper stalls on cold start, idle issues..

I had the same issue on my 99 Trooper.

It would usually start when completely cold, but idle around 2k RPM.
It would drive fine. But if I shut it down, ran into a store, and came back out, it would start but immediately idle.
Had to ride the gas a little to get it into gear.
The Check Engine light has been going on and off for 6 months or so.

I took this to my local trusted repair shop (no Isuzu dealers within 200 miles).
The diagnosed the light, and found that the Intake Gaskets were bad or leaking.
The idling problem was related to the car not being able to control the amount of air coming in.

They replaced the Intake gaskets by the next day, and I haven't had a problem since. And no more check engine light, which has been on half a year.

Here's some details from my bill:
(1) Intake Gasket set $107.95
Misc materials $21.00
2.1 hours of Labor

The total cost to me was $345.00, and I definately don't feel gipped.

SOURCE: Isuzu trooper engine stops while driving

If its the 3.0 diesel it could be the rail oil pressure sensor starting to pack up .

SOURCE: The engine stops ,wont start again no indication on the dashboard

Most likley cause is the Rail Oil Pressure Sensor which is under the cam cover and sends info to the ECU . No or wrong info an the ECU stops the engine ,you can test this part by pulling out the white or yellow wire from the multi plug by the dipsick on the car side of the loom .All the other wires in this plug are pink so its easy to see. then if the car starts the sensor is at fault but get a new one !

SOURCE: 2002 trooper A/T 4WD will not move from start or stop.

One of two things has happened. Either you have lost first and second gear in your tranny (Winter drive starts you out in third gear) or your TCM (Transmission control module) is shot.

Check the TCM first, it's the lesser (cheaper) of the two evils.

I have a 2006 Toyota 140i manual transmission. Whilst waiting at the stoplight with the engine at idle ,the revs suddenly race up to 4000rpm & come down on its own. What could be the problem .

Following are the reasons for unstable engine rpm:
- Vacuum leak at intake manifold or Cracked intake manifold.
- Idle speed control valve is not re-learned.
- Weak cylinder compression or intake valve clearance is too low.
- Mass Air Flow sensor dirty or faulty.
- Fuel pump pressure is too low or high.
- Accelerator pedal sensor faulty.

I have a 2002 mitsubishi eclipse rs and the oil pressure light came on. When the car is turned on the rpm become lower to about (650rpm). No oil leaks and level is fine. In any gear the rpm is low and when...

Your problem is not the oil pressure sensor, it's because your idling is going too low. If you raise the RPM slightly the light goes out. 650rpm is a little low. I think your car has an Idle control valve ... or look if it has an Idle position sensor. I suspect you have an issue with that.
Hope this helps.

RPM drops to zero at idling after engine accelerates when warm

This may been an ignition module or a MAF sensor, this car may need to be diagnosed using a OBD I computer code reader to accurately diagnose the problem.

Stuck in first gear.

Sounds like transmission may be in "Limp Mode" which occurs when problem detected in transmission, to allow you to get to repair shop and save transmission at same time. Have it diagnosed at dealer or transmission shop & don't drive it any more than needed until then. Transmission replacement gets very expensive so get it in to shop a.s.a.p. so it doesn't get to that extent, and it may turn out to be a faulty sensor or something minor.
