I could suggest you to look your fuel line and the fuel filter if are free from any restrictions and if the line has a solid line of fuel(no air). air on the filter or on the line, engine really wont start.
and this assume engine timing is ok?

1998 Toyota Grand Hiace 3.0 Diesel. My van just quit and I lost power steering and my glow plug lights do not come on and the motor turns over but sounds like no diesel.

When the engine stops, the power steering stops because the engine powers the power steering pump with the serpentine belt.

There could be many reasons the engine stopped and the fuel pump is just one of them. Check for DTCs and diagnose the vehicle electronically with a pro grade scan tool computer.

Landcruiser early 80 turbo diesel wont start

Presuming it is swinging (starter turning engine) and the glow plugs are working well and diesel is clean, the other alternatives are a drop in fuel pressure through the injectors which is necessary to ignite the diesel, or engine compression. If the compression is too low the diesel will not ignite. Test the injectors and compression across al cylinders. Being a turbo the compression si already lowered and the slightest drop will have an effect. Happy hunting.

I HAVE AN 84 TOYOTA 22R DIESEL AND WHEN ITS COLD IT WONT FIRE BUT IF I PUSH START IT IT STARTS RIGHT UP?GLOW PLUGS?

HELLO THERE:
Diesel engines work under heat of compression meaning that when the fuel is injected into the cylinder and is compressed during the compression stroke in the cylinder it heats up untill it fires.
If the engine is now starting and you are letting the glow plug on for the reccommended amount of time than yes i would consider getting a glow plug that has a higher temperature range on it.
also you can get fuel heaters this is what we use on all of our big rigs they are better know as pre heaters they work very well when the temperatures are very cold and of course a block heater works well too ok
I hope that this is very helpful for you.
Best regards michael

Turbo diesel, cranks but does not start when it is cold.

Have the cold start valve replaced, it enriches the fuel mix during cold start and check the glow plugs and see if any are bad, to test remove the wires and put test meter to ohms and one by one test each glow plug with one probe to ground and one on the tip of the glow plug see it it goes close to zero if it does not move then that glow plug is bad, replace all that you find bad.

(TOYOTA SURF 1990 TURBO DIESEL) No diesel coming out of fuel pump

If it has glow plugs or an intake heater you will need to disable the circuit. Then you can use a small amount of ether to spray into the air cleaner.!!! If you spray too much and/or Dont disable the circuits you can damage the motor!!! When you spray the ether, if the engine starts and stalls then its not getting fuel. This could be related to the fuel pump, injection pump, the fuel system loosing its prime(fuel line leak), fuel shut-off valve or solenoid. If it doesn't start then it could be related to your timing, valves or maybe compression.

Glow plugs

Gasoline engines dont use glow plugs. glow plugs are for diesel engines some people call glow plugs as heater plugs, but well, if you are refering to a toyota corolla, then you must have been refering to the SPARK PLUGS. trace the four long wires(high tension wires) that goes to the engine, pull the rubber boot and you will see the spark plugs, its kinda deep though so you will need a flashlight.
