2003 crown victoria ex p71 police car I live in new york, I purchased a 2003 crown victoria from the police department 6 months ago. It still has all the switchs that controls the lights in the middle console but it's disconnected. Im not a LEO and i've been pulled over for the first time since i had it for not signaling from a lane to exit off highway. and they asked if its working i said no and turn it on to show them and they gave me a ticket for failure to signal. Is it ok that i still have the equipment in my car even though its not hooked up?

It needs a new headlight switch assembly. A parts worn out inside. The approx. cost for a new one is abot $160.00. Sorry.
SOURCE: turn signals stop working
IT IS PROBABLY THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH ..THAT IS WHAT YOU USE TO TURN THE BLINKERS ON..TRY TURNING ON YOUR EMRGENCY BLINKER BUTTON AND IF THEY WORK THAT WAY IT IS NOT THE FUSE...THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCHES ARE PRONE TO FAILURE...
SOURCE: HEADLIGHT FLICKER THEN SHUT OFF
check to ensure the connection is secure at the light socket itself even jiggle the connection to ensure this dirt etc may cause a faulty connection ...also is this just one or both headlights
