SOURCE: What fluids do I use for my transfer case?
Transfer case, Dexron II or Mercon auto trans fluid, Fill/check level plug above, drain plug lower (both on front face of housing), 20 ft lbs. to tighten, I believe I use a large crescent wrench to remove/install (of course I couldn't use my torque wrench).

(If you have the 242 I believe you can use ATF+4 instead of the special Mopar fluid but I would check first to make sure).

Making a clanking noise as i drive , like the chain in the transfer case. and there is a 1"x5" hole in the bottom, is it supose to be there/
