These immobilisers on hyundai are a chip installation in key ? considering age of car and use of ign key it may well be the worne key ist causing intermitant problem ? ask mother did she get either another ign master key or a tag with the key code number stamped on it for obtaining a replacement key with the car ? as with each new hyundai you get 2x keys and either one of the above with all documents/handbooks etc try hyundai main office b4 you consider trying to cut out immobiliser? this would affect your insurance if it is stolen and found to not have working immobiliser

Will the clutch plate out of a 1998 Hyundai Accent fit in a 2005 Hyundai Accent? As well as the Slave cylinder?

go to a spares shop and see if the part numbers are the same
I feel that it will be the same but due to the vagaries of engineering you have to check first
are you positive that it is the clutch as a faulty master cylinder will cause the plate slip giving the same indication as a failing clutch

I have a 2001 hundaii accent GS 1.6 liter that has intermittent losses of power. I put a can of high quality fuel injecter cleaner in tank. It acts like it is out of fuel or flooding. Check engine light...

The first thing I would look at would be the fuel filter. Not sure exactly where it's located on your Hundaii but in most cases it can be located under the driver's side just in front of the rear wheel. This is by far the least expensive of fixes and chances are it has never been changed if you haven't done it yourself. Hope this helps.

The light is on due to a faulty sensor or SRS module. Call your dealer and see how long the AIRBAG system is warranted.

1997 Accent trans. trouble after torque convertor replacement.

okay. there could be a couple of problems with your transmission.
1). it's quite possible that the clutch discs inside of your transmission have finally burned out. Hyundai has been known for making faulty transmissions for the accent for the first generation models.
2). if the car doesn't go in first gear, try driving it in normal mode and not economy. the accent purposely pulls in second gear in economy mode, when warmed up, in order to get into the high 30 mpgs.
3). faulty shift control solenoid. These have also been known to be defective with the first generation accent (1995-1999).
4). Your transmission fluid leaked out, prior to the mechanic fixing it, and the high heat building up in the transmission as well as the low amount of fluid in the transmission helped to burn it out.
for options 1 and 4, you wont know the actual problem unless you pull the transmission out and examine all of the clutch discs.
hope this helps...

Bearing trouble

Ouch, get your wheel bearings checked. I had a 97 Hyundai and in the 3 years I had it, the front bearings had to be replaced twice and the rear once once.
