How to replace lower ball joint?

Remove in this order: wheel, loosen the 4 lower ball joint set bolts, cotter pin and nut from tie rod, tie rod from ball joint bracket, ball joint from lower control arm, 4 lower ball joint set bolts, ball joint from suspension. Install is reverse but don't tighten the 4 lower ball joint set bolts.
torque is as follows:
ball joint to control arm- 112 ft-lbs
Tie rod nut- 67 ft-lbs
lower ball joint set bolts- 83 ft-lbs
remember to use a new cotter pin

You can pick up an entire re manufactured axle assembly at your local auto parts store. In order to replace the assembly you will need to disconnect the tie rod end and the ball joint. Remove the spindle nut. Push the axle stub out of the hub. Now with a suitable container under the axle to catch spilled fluid pry the axle from the transmission housing. You take out the battery, and the air-filter housing to give extra working space.
Then push in the starter motor to its place, and hand-tighten all its bolts.
Wrench tighten the starter bolts to the engine 38.ft-lb
Connect the solenoid wire, and tighten to 10.ft-lb
Connect the battery positive cable, and tighten to13.ft-lb.
Replace the air-filter housing.
Replace the battery, and terminals.
Crank-up the car.
