When you said "...indicator light blinking," I assume you mean "check engine" light is on. Procure a check engine code reader and download the trouble code. When you isolate which component the trouble code is talking about, ascertain its not a faulty sensor. Read the code reader instruction and look up "clear trouble code" to turn off the "check engine" light. Replace the sensor first and see if it stops sending the trouble code. If the sensor is still sending a trouble code (check engine lights up again), then replace the component which the sensor is monitoring.
If it's the check engine light, then no one will know what it means till you have the engine computer scanned with a code reader to get the trouble codes.
If the light comes on when engine is running, it means the computer has detected a fault in it's engine management. It will turn on the light and set a trouble code for the fault in its memory. A technician will use the trouble code to diagnose and fix the problem. Depending on the problem, sometimes it's simple, sometimes more complex. If your car is a '96 or newer model, Autozone (and maybe other parts stores) will do an engine computer scan for free. Cars built before '96 use a different diagnostics program, but code readers for any year car are available and relatively inexpensive at any parts store or at outlets like Walmart. Good luck.
It means that there is a malfunction with the engine control system which is most likely related to the emission control system, the computer stores some diagnostic trouble codes that should be retrieved, the trouble code numbers will help to find where the problem may be. The way to get the trouble codes is by putting a jumper wire in the diagnostic connector under the hood between the terminals TE1 and E1 with the key on the check engine light will blink the code, for example a code 24 would be two blinks followed by four and so on. Once the codes are known you can reply back to me and I can help further.
Means your computer pick up a bad signal from one of your engine sensor's, most auto parts or autozone will pull code's for free, get back with us with the code number, and we'll help you diag. your trouble code,
what you could start with is checking to see what trouble codes are being logged for this vehicle...if the engine light stays on, it means the ecu is registering a fault......by the means of a trouble code...now the trouble code doesnt tell you how to fix it, but it does give you the direction to go down...judst wondering if you have tried to obtain the trouble codes
Check engine light means, that your computer has pick up a bad signal from one of your engine sensor's, best to have a code reading done, to see what's going on, autozone or other auto parts will do this service for free, get the trouble code number and get back with us so we can help you with the trouble code.
I hope you mean: P0321, that means: Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Range/Performance Check again and post the complete trouble code. Check engine lights serves only 2 digits! OBD System read out four digits and one letter
i would say it is just reminding you to to get the vehicle serviced its not major but most vehicles need to be serviced on a regular basis i think every 5000 km
The check engine light indicates a problem, many times the car will run fine, or seem to, but u should get the codes read to determine what's wrong, and correct the problem, as it can lead to other troubles. Not sure about parts stores in Australia, but in the US they offer free car checks of trouble codes when the engine light is on. They plug a hand held scan tool into a port under the dash, and 'read' any codes stored in the cars computer. Write down the numbers for your records, and ask them what the codes mean, and how to fix the problem. If u have any questions, post them here w/ the codes for help.
