Stalling truck when we drive the truck it does alright for awhile then all of a sudden it just goes dead, wait a minute, try to start, maybe start (maybe not) but will start after awhile. We thought we had gas in the tank added HEET started just fine, engine went out. Drove next day fine for about 60 miles. Today went 18 miles dead on the road again? Any ideas?

Went out to start my truck before taking child to school. It cranked fine. I turned the heater on and truck went dead within 2 seconds. Would not start back. It was 32 degrees this morning. Didn't have it plugged in, but I did plug it in for 2 hours and let it sit before tryong to start it again. No luck. As a last resort, I have a Pontiac Grand Am as well and sometimes the security feature causes it to need to be reset. You have to let it sit on "on" for 10 full minutes and then start the car. I tried this with the truck but when I went to try to start it it was like the battery was dying. Barely turned over.

Sounds like it could be a number of things Coil breaking down, ignition module breaking down or a failing relay.Could be ignition relay or fuel pump relay. The relay is the quickest, easiest and cheapest option to try first.

Could bad maf sensor and bad idle air valve have vehicle stall then hard to start for awhile and cuts off after 10 minutes of driving

I would also suspect the ignition module. They tend to work ok for a few minutes when they are cold, then fail once they warm up. If you wait awhile for the ICM to cool down, it will work as well as it can until it warms up again. A code scanner is your best friend to know where to start looking, and to perform tests and log data.

97 lumina, 3.1. Starts runs smooth, drive for 30

I just recently have been fighting the same problem with the same make/model/year vehicle. For myself, I would drive off and on through the day and it would run fine. Then suddenly after a start it would run rough and die. I would have to wait 20 to 60 mins before it would start again. I had it checked and fuel pump was only putting out around 19 psi. It should be around 41 psi. Had fuel pump replaced and no more problems. Furthermore, now it runs so much better. It's funny how over time I didn't notice how the performance was slowly degrading. Unfortunaley fuel pumps for this car run around $300.

Car stalling out and bot starting after being driven for awhile.

mcdevito75 Here, It"s possible the ignition Module is going bad, no way to test and if so, one day the car will not start at all.----------It can also be a vapor loc, wher the fuel is evaporating before it reaches the cylinders. Best Bet, have your local shop check both these items.
