Hello! The drivers side door lock/unlock switch is more than likely defective...Having said that, the alarm system on Jeeps are a constant problem...To disable the system requires removing the drivers door panel and cutting the Light Green/Orange wire at the switch...And installing a 465 Ohm resistor...Not something done without the necessary skills...
I would have the vehicle towed to a Jeep dealer and have them test the drivers door switch and disable the alarm....Guru...saailer

Check the owners manual for the proper dis-arming procedure. Or you close all the doors including the trunk and hood. Lock and unlock the doors using the remote or the key. Get in the car, shut the driver door, insert the key in the ignition and attempt to start. If that fails. Contact the dealer to see if they have any suggestions.

Most cars that are mid 90s and newer had a remote feature. If you take it by the parts department of and Isuzu dealer they should be able to order you one or two.

How disable the security systems control 1997 Jeep grand cherokee sport

Hi, the Jeep Grand Cherokee 1997 has a security system called VTSS (Vehicle Theft Security System). The VTSS cannot be disabled as it comes factory installed. What you can do is prevent the VTSS alarm from arming. If you prevent it from arming, you will void it activating. One of the VTSS funcions is to also prevent the engine from starting when the alarm is armed. To disarm the alarm do this. Locate a line colored Violet with a black trace in the Body control module connector. In a suitable place of that line, insert a needle and using a jumper wire touch that needle with an extreme while the other extreme is touching ground. This will disarm the VTSS alarm. When the VTSS is disarmed, the engine will start every time you need it to.

I have a 1993 jeep Cherokee and the alarm is going off and i can't start the car.

If it's not a factory alarm locate the alarm unit and the main power line running to that alarm and remove the in line fuse from that line. That will disable the alarm and should disable the starter kill switch that is installed.

Engine trouble light coming on 2003 jeep gr. cherokee

If the light is ywllow, it's emmissions or some sensor. You can drive to a service center and have the codes read. If the light is red...STOP!! and check engine oil. DO NOT drive further!! Have it towed in for service.

The mfg alarm system on my 2006 jeep commander intermittently has started going off. How can I temporarily disable the system?

There's really not very much you can do because of it being a factory alarm you will have to take it to the dealer and have them check it. They may just need to reduce the sensitivity (if too sensitive cars driving by and set it off). If it is bothersome and you have to do something about it, you can disconnect your cars battery until you can drive it in.

I would like to disable the factory anti-theft and security system on my 1994 jeep Wrangler with 4 cylinder. It drains the battery when left in storage/not driven for 2 months while on vacation. Then when...

Try Turn your vehicle on, while its on unhook the alarm box from behind the dash. if you attempt to do this without the vehicle on it will not work. an other solution would be to ground the purple and yellow wire on the drivers side door
