I hear leak on the back side of my engine. Sounds like a vacuum leak and I'm losing acceleration and the car is stalling. How do i find the line and change it.
Please help!
99% of the time it's a pcv hose, put your hand behind the intake manifold while the car is running and you should be able to feel it. it will be sucked in at the elbow on the manifold, this is not an easy hose to replace.
U can look for a loose or unplugged hose, try to track it down by listening to determine where it's coming from-use a towel or rag to cover areas it sounds like the vac leak is coming from, if the sound lessens, u are probably close, as the towel/rag are covering and muffling it, so you can look more carefully in that particular area.
mpip97, have u checked for engine codes? Parts stores will do it for free, if u have a vac. leak and Mazda isn't running right, there must be codes stored in the computer that would help narrow it down to a couple of locations. Have someone scan for codes, they can tell u what to check for, or post it again w/ code info. good luck

Rectified the engine in my mazda mpv, but upon reaching a certain speed the engine cuts out and does not accelerate, changed the TPS, but not resolved, if the tps is off it accelerates more slowly, but reaches the rotation. thanks for the help.
