For my 96 towncar I determined it was one of the rear doors. Partially remove inside door panel by removing 2 screws on the inside grab handle. these are located behind covers at the end of the door handle. you can use a flat head screw driver to pry up from the bottom of the cover. Then remove other screw located on top corner of door panel. Grab bottom of door panel and give a good pull on it, it should pull out fairly easy because it is held on by plastic clips. Then pull on sides. Towards the back edge of the door behind the panel 3/4 of the way down you will see a single wire going in to the door mechanisms. Cut this wire with wire cutters. Make sure it is a single wire! Put the inside door panel back together. make sure you align the plastic inserts properly and give that area of the door a good whack with your hand. Replace screws. Close all doors. If you found the bad door the door ajar light will go off. If not do the same thing to the other door. I fixed mine on the second try.

It is a sticky sensor in the door latch mechanism. Spray it w/ WD-40 and follow up with a dose of silicone spray. Open/close doors several times and it should be ok. If you have a problem with 1 door the other 3 are sure to follow---DO THIS TO ALL 4 DOORS!!!!!!!!!

yes i agree with ripoff, If you are unable to do it yourself , then I suggest you go to a regular shop, and they should replace it with minimal cost, buy the part for eight dollars and bring it with you to the shop so that all you have to pay is labor, if it is really easy like i suspect you may not be charged at all, or even ask one of the guys if you give them a couple of bucks will they switch it real quick.
hey, I would do it..
