Probably could, if computer thinks there is no spinning crankshaft.

My fuel pump isn't getting electricity to it

NOT TOLD WHEN CAR RAN GREAT LAST.
LAST MONTH.
LAST YEAR
LAST DECADE. WHAT?
non are that good.
the PCM(ECU) has lots of good reasons to cut fuel at the injectors all 4
1: CKP or CMP reading wrong, (i bet not spark is good)
2: tps ground wire cut. causes super secret unflood mode and injectors are disable by design.
3: some have tachometer wire that if shorted to ground the PCM cuts fuel.
4: or the pump is bad or the fuel pump relay bad or the FP fuse is bad or other fues to PCM blown.

above is generic sentra off top of head.
now comes my words, reading the service manual to you on key facts this SR20DE
ecu has 4 fuses all 4 must be good]]
if rail pressure is out of spec cranked, 0PSI or too low
we check pump next or at FP relay, red black wire
if dead wire not 11 to 12vdc cranked, the fuse is blown seen here.left top
or relay is bad
or black-yellow wire at relay is not 0vdc crank
if that fails, the ECU told the relay to be dead. on purpose.
the fuse link is not blown because spark works.
ecu pin 3 is tacho pin,
watch out a shorted 02 sensor blows a ECU fuse, and not good that.

OR 4 CLOGGED INJECTORS. FROM BAD FUEL.
hear it is-undefined-undefined-0.jpg

2002 Ford E-150 cranks no start.

ECONOLINE OR CLUB WAGON.?
99% OF ALL POSTS HERE IS OWNER FAILS TO SCAN THE PCM.
AND GOES BROKE GUESSING ENDLESSLY.

21 YEARS OLD ,TROUBLE IS 100% EXPECTED, EVEN 2 O PROBLEMS !!!
ALL FUSES GOOD. F.1.17 MUST BE GOOD OR PUMP IS DEAD
WARNING THIS FORD HAS AN INERTIAL FUEL CUT OFF SWITCH AND TRIPPED NO POWER GETS TO THE PUMP.

there are 50 causes of cranks but will not start or starts and stalls
and up to 20 tests and 20 tools used to find the cause.
a real shop has all those tools and skills. be hard to tell you them all in this tiny text box.
no engine told and is the topic here. 4.2,4.6,5.4l??????????????
I TOSS COIN LAND 4.2L, I MUST GUESS.?
will run how long on fluid, 3 seconds , 10seconds, 10minutes or one long trip?
???? GUESS 3 SECONDS AS TEST FUEL IS EXPENDED FAST.

the PCM controls fuel (EFI it is)
and the PCM will cut fuel if it wants to for many reasons. 5 or less.
what you failed to do is check fuel pressure to spec.
cranking fuel pressure.
if too low PSI or dead we check pump cranking voltage next. 2 man test.
it will be 11vdc at least cranking if low
we check voltage out of k4 fuel pump relay, if good there wires from here to pump are bad.
if bad here, all pins of K4 are checked for voltage, for sure F-1.17
for sure coil of K4 is hot 12vdc once side and zero on other side of k4 coil
if 12vdc missing there that is power loss from k163 pcm relay
if low side of k4 coil is stuck 12vdc that means the PCM is CUTTING FUEL ON PURPOSE. told below. (why not scan the PCM and see why it does?0
all tests are cranking tests, 2 mean tests. 1 at key , 2nd meter in hand
DMM set to volts.

causes, of dead fuel pressure, cranking, not just the pump,.
1: PCM FAILING FOR IMMO LAMP GLOWING AND IGNORED,
2: PCM SEES BAD SPARK (DETECTED SO) EVEN IF IT SEEMS OK.
3:PCM SEES CMP/CKP ERRORS. , NOT USING A SCAN TOOL HERE MEANS YOU WILL NEVER FIND OUT WHY IT CUT FUEL.
3: TPS SENSOR STUCK HIGH, IS WOT CUT FUEL MODE TO SUPER SECRET UNFLOOD MODE. TPS GROUND CUT , TOP CAUSE.
4: INERTIAL TRIP SWITCH

NO ENGINE TOLD E150
there are lots of other causes, above is fuel cut.
IMMO key failing
MAF DEAD.
EGR VALVE STUCK WIDE OPEN
ENGINE COMPRESSION TEST FAILING
MELTED CATS BLOCKING EXH ,PATH.

MY GUESS IS.
CHECK ALL FUSES
CHECK INERTIAL SWITCH
SCAN THE PCM

I BET FUEL PRESSURE IS ZERO, CRANKED

Where is the crankshaft position sensor located on a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant 4 cylinder

Hello, crank position sensor located at the 2 o`clock position hidden behind timing cover and crank shaft pulley. If you look closely in well lit area or use a flashlight you can follow the (CCPS) harness down the right hand side of timing cover to where it goes into lower timing cover on lower right hand side of crank shaft pulley. It can be replaced with out removing timing belt. Please note if the 60,000 miles heavy service interval for timing belt is needed and water pump condition should be observed when repairing the crank position sensor.

Why my 97' f-250 7.3 powerr stroke keeps dieing while idling

The power stroke engine has several things that will cause this problem #1 crank shaft sensor AKA cam shaft sensor on crank shaft located on passenger side of engine near crank shaft pulley # 2 IPC sensor Injection pressure control if has oil in sensor replace it & wiring pigtail .#3 high pressure oil pump not up to par. #4 injection pressure regulator solenoid they get sticky. with a good scanner that has FORD enhanced software you can check all of these without leaving the drivers seat and perform running tests on injectors and test the ficm module interface with the pcm. No spark ferom coil

Probable Causes: Fuel Pump (P0230 to P0233) PCM (P0600 to P0606) Crank Sensor (P0355 to P0399) Fuel Pressure (P0190 to P0194) Chances are the Check Engine Light is not on, but you may find any of the following codes: P0230 to P0233 Fuel Pump codes P0600 to P0606 PCM related codes P0335 to P0339 Crank Sensor codes P0190 to P0194 Fuel Pressure Sensor codes No spark due to a bad crank position sensor, a faulty ignition module or PCM, a problem in the ignition circuit (ignition switch, antitheft system, wiring, etc.), a faulty park/neutral safety switch, a bad ignition coil (only on engines with a single coil ignition), or wet plugs or plug wires (did it rain last night, did you just wash the engine?) A less common cause is a worn starter that draws so many amps while cranking the engine that there's not enough juice left to adequately power the ignition system and fuel injectors. Contributing factors might be a weak battery and/or loose or corroded battery cables. No fuel because of a dead fuel pump, bad fuel pump relay, blown fuel pump fuse, plugged fuel filter or line, or failed PCM injector driver circuit or injector power supply relay. Or, the fuel tank might be empty (don't believe what the gauge is telling you), or the fuel tank might contain contaminated fuel (water or too much alcohol) or the wrong type of fuel (whoops, somebody put in diesel instead of gasoline). No compression because the timing belt or chain is broken, the timing belt or chain is loose and jumped out of time, or the overhead camshaft has snapped.

1995 bmw 318i will not start once the car is up to operating tempature, once turned off it seems that it must cool down to be able to start again.

Possible causes: Fuel pump relay, Pump, Fuel Filter, Regulator, Crank Shaft Sensor, Camshaft Sensor, Loos Connection(try to wiggle the wiring harness and observe). or faulty Ignation Switch.

Observe if the engine will lack of power first before to shut off, if this is the scenario it could be a fuel pump relay or pump. I suggest you to monitor the fuel pressure first or try to swap fuel pump relay to other as long as same color or figure and observe it.

If the senario is sudden cut off, it coud be a faulty cranck shaft sensor. a faulty cranck shaft sensor is easy to determine using tachometer while cranking, if the sensor is faulty the tachometer will not move or rise even a little bit if it's good it will rise a bit while cranking the engine.

Check fuel pump when the problem occur, try to ignition ON/Off and listen to fuel pump motor noise from underneath (close to rear right side tire), the pump will operates for aprox 5 sec. everytime you turned ON the ignition switch. and if you can't hear noise then you have to focus to fuel system.

Galant Special Edition 1994 Motor does not start

this maybe caused by no fuel or faulty fuel pump, ignition coil, wire and plug crank position sensor. first check for spark by removing on spark plug wire and put a spark plug in the spark plug wire boot, donot touch the plug only the boot have someone crank the car over. if you see spark, that part of the ignition is good. if not, check the coil resistance if should 40 to 80 ohm with a volt meter pf not replace. if ok, but no spark check the igniton control madule make sure the coil and module are receiving current. if not check the fuse that feels them. if it is ok, check distributor cap and rotor. if rotor and cap are fine, check for fuel at either the fuel filter, the fuel return line or removing some spark plug and see if they are wet. if there is no fuel check the fuel pump and the fuse and relay that control the pump. if there is fuel with high pressure but there is no spark, check the crank sensor for signal with a volt meter while cranking the vehicle
