Not sure. Reason I am posting is to let you know that Ford had a recall on faulty cruise control caused by brake fluid leaking onto the module or some part there of the cruise control. You might want to check with dealer. I'm pretty sure Expeditions were on the list.

Dave, I am sorry I can't help you, but it sounds like you know what your doing, all I can do is offer you the troubleshoot guide, for a ford car cruise control, which should be the same. You can purchase for 20.00 on alldatadiy.com and it will give you all service info on your specific vehicle for a year. I think it is well worth the money, and generally when I need to repair any vehicle with problems it has been a life saver. I am pretty sure the electronics for this are contained in the cruise module it's self. Alldata will have a trouble shooting guide that will walk you through the repair. It could be the actual button on the steering wheel, it could be the module. You can buy these pretty cheap if you go to car-parts.com and put in what you need. Of course these are used but most yards give a warranty on them.

Check the speed sensor at the tranny or near left front tire. Use a manual or find the location on the net. This sensor usually causes problems with the cruise control.

My cruise control wont engage in 97 cavalier

The best suggestion would be that the cruise control needs replaced. The problem could be in your column but this is rare. Cruise controls can only take so much abuse and many people are unaware of the abuse they give. Constant on and off or accelerating manually while cruise control is on can burn up your cruise control.

Cruise 2002 expedition will not work, all fuses good

There have been recalls for the cruise controls. Go to a dealer or call with your Vin#. There is a second round of repairs for some year models and the first only involved putting in an additional fuse.

My cruise control just quit on my 97 olds. how do

First check the fuse in the fuse box. It also sounds like you may have a wire in the column that is shorting out. you may have to replace the turn lever.

Cruise control

Here's the situation, there was a factory recall on the cruise control module for Explorers and Expeditions during recent years and your vehicle may be included. This is very important because in some vehicles this faulty cruise control module sparked and caught on fire. Here's what you do, call the Ford dealer in your area(service) with the vin number to your vehicle, they will tell you if your vehicle was under this factory recall and if it is they will replace it for free. I would be very careful as you may have one of these faulty modules. Hope this helped.
