The 3rd speed is the only speed I had when I got the car. It stopped working. I have now changed my fan blower resistor and the blower fan again only works on the 3rd speed. The resister I took out was blown. Not sure how the blower fuses are marked in the fuseblock by the battery. Not sure what to check next, relay if it has one, maybe selector switch is bad. This is a standard and not a clmiate controlled unit.
A clogged cabin air filter can cause repeat resistor failures. A bad blower fan can also cause repeat resistor failure.

Nope! Haven't got to it yet...been waitin on you guys...guess nuthin is free...
SOURCE: blower fan
Sounds like the problem is more with the blower motor assembly itself. The blower motor have micro-proccers built itnto them which comunicate with the control heads and do the actual regulating of the fan motor. Dealers have computers with diagnostic software which allows them to monitor what is happening in the eletronic controls of the vehicle. Electronic diagnostics without the diagnostic software makes it very diffecult to pinpoint the actual item causing the problem.
